So this morning I finally bit the bullet, and ordered all the rest of my jewelry/accessories. I would like to think that I shopped around for the best deals I could find, and that I made out pretty well. But it got me thinking…
How much did you all spend, and did you get one thing for a really great deal, but then splurge on another item? So please share how you did!
I’ll go first:
Beaded edge veil: $22

I think this was the only area I didn’t bargain hunt for, only because they were my first 2 purchases and I just did it without even thinking of looking around.
Bracelet (made to match) $150
Veil 140 (gift from cousins so for me..free) 2 layer fingertip veil with satin thread edge
Diamond Earings borrowed from sister

Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet: $98
Additionally, I bought vintage cuff links for my husband: $65

Sorry for the grainy photo, haven’t gotten the pro pics back yet :).
$50 on the hair accessory
$50 on the earrings
$7 on the bracelet
$30 on the shoes
Total: $137, but the earrings were a gift from my grandma, so semi-technically less than that :).

I have gotten all of my accessories on sale but I think my veil was the best deal.
Fingertip length crystal accent veil: $19 (originally priced over $100)

These were some of the things I refused to spend a lot of money on, but I have always felt that way about most accessories. I almost laughed at the bridal store employee when she told me the veil I tried on was $179. So here’s mine:
Custom DIY veil: $9 ($6 for the tulle, $3 for the beading embellishments, and I had the comb)
Shoes: $24 (got DB dyeable on clearance, then $4 to dye)
Bracelet: being made by my mom, so free!

Bracelet: $45 diy, but didnt get to wear it, sold it for $40. I wore a diamond and sapphire tennis bracelets, and gold bangles, dont know the cost.
So I guess total:$148 out of my pocket

I’ve really splurged on my outfit and accessories even with DIYing quite a bit.
Shoes: £144 + £275 (on Swarovski crystals to strass them)
Tiara: £75 (for all the tools and materials to DIY them)
Earrings: £40 (eBay)
Necklace: £0 (something borrowed)
Veil: £550 (It’s very heavily hand beaded, cathedral length and in a custom colour. Still ridiculous but I love it.)
Total: £1084 ($1750ish)

$10 on materials for my silk DIY hair flower
$25 on shoes (50%off sale)
$10 swarovski glass pearl studs
pearl strand necklace belonged to my mother and she gifted it to me (it was swarovski glass pearls so worth about $25)
My big splurge was my first piece of nice, real jewelry (except my rings) it was a 3 strand antique pearl bracelet with a silver filigree clasp that I spent $250 on, I intend for it to be an heirloom.
so total, $295

I feel guilty for spending so much after adding it all up!
Bracelet: 190 pounds (around $300)
Headcomb: 107.50 pounds (around $170)
The bracelet, headcomb, and earrings were all actually gifts from my mom though I obsessively shopped around fro them.

What I spent myself:
Flower fascinator: $8 from etsy
Veil – $15 in Vietnam, but I didn’t end up wearing it
Shoes – $50 to go with my wedding gown, $20 to go with my Asian dress
Faux Fur Wrap – $15
My mom also got me a Japanese Akoya pearl necklace and earring set, and Mother-In-Law got me a moissanite pendant and earring set to wear as accessories with each dress. Those were $1000-$1500 each set.

I am on the lower side, mostly because I used a lot of items from my family.
Veil – My mom’s mantilla, paid tailor to shorten and add new bottom trim I bought: $42
Shoes – waited until last minute before alterations, so didn’t shop around much: $65
Jewelry – borrowed pearl necklace, received pearl bracelet and grandmother’s ring as gifts: free
