I’m 9 weeks, and I’ve gained 4 pounds already. Is this pretty normal? I read that most people don’t gain any weight, which is why I’m kind of nervous. How much did you gain?

You’re okay, but I lost weight in the first trimester, I’ve now gained it all back and am at 17 weeks. I’m back where I started!
If you’re normal weight, you should gain about 3-4 lbs. However, I find that a lot of women (if they’re not losing weight due to MS) end up gaining more than that because of the water weight and other fluids that your body is building. Just whatever you do, DON’T try to lose weight now. It’ll all even out as you go through your pregnancy 🙂
Morning sickness cost me 10lbs, I finally broke even this week at 22 weeks.
umm I had definitely gained like 8-9 lbs by 12 weeks.. I had to eat constantly to fend off the nausea.. but my weight gain seems to have slown down dramatically in 2nd tri, which is good..
I think about 12 lbs! haha. I pretty much gained a lb per week. Some weeks I gained none, and I remember one week, I think it was like week 34 or something I gained 7lbs.
I’m almost 12 weeks and have gained 5 lbs…. I haven’t been throwing up BUT have had quite a bit of trouble eating with this constant nausea =/
I’m doing much better this go round as opposed to the boat load I had already gained by this time with DS so I’m happy with my 5lbs
I didn’t gain anything the first 12 weeks and then by week 14 I had gained 5#
I weigh myself every morning. Some mornings I will be 5 pounds heavier than normal, but the next morning I will back down to my usual weight.
I have heard that 5lbs is the suggested weight gain…then 1-2 pounds a week after that.
I gained 4lbs during my 1st trimester. Then I sadly gained weight FAST and now have gained 46lbs at 36weeks
I think about 3 pounds, maybe 4. I didn’t have to change any eating habits though- I wasn’t too sick or anything so I just ate like I regularly would the first 20 weeks. Then the second half- I have been super sizing every meal!I think I gained the most weight from week 25 to 35.
I wouldn’t worry about what the charts say as much as what your doctor says based on not only your weight, but other factors, like your sugar levels and your blood pressure.
I’m 9weeks and 5 days and I dont know if I’ve gained that much I dont fit into my pants and some of my shirts but when I step on the scale I only seemd to have gained a pound or two at most.
With the constant bitter taste in my mouth and waves of nausea I have somedays when I have zero appetite and cant eat that much
I’m not pregnant, but I remember reading something like this in my Nutrition class regarding where your weight gain comes from in pregnancy. It says:
Here is an approximate breakdown of your weight gain:
