Fiance and I are only 4 months away from our big day…he’s starting to worry about money a lot..right now we are both just part time minimum wage. So I was wondering how old you were when you got married or moved in together? and how much total did you make a month (combined)?

Well he is 7 years older then me so that might skew your results… I am 27, he is 33. We just got married a few months ago.
Together we make over $3000 ( Not saying exactly how much…) , he makes alot more then I do though.

You may want to update your poll. I have a feeling the vast majority of votes will be $3k+.

I’m 30, Fiance is 39. Together we made well over $3k +. Now that I am not working anymore and staying home with our kids, we still make over that. But we also live in Seattle, where everything is stupid expensive.

I think you need more $ choices…$3,000+/month has all the votes! 🙂
E.T.A: I’m 27 (28 soon!) and he just turned 30, we make $10,000+/month combined after taxes

Gosh…I guess I thought there wouldn’t be a lot of people making that much…I’ll redo it

@UpstateCait: it actually made me happy that $3000+ was the highest. i felft very rich when i voted 🙂
i think income is tricky to compare sometimes in places like the bee b/c the meager salary i make living in boston would probably make me pretty well off in another region of the country.

We moved in together (officially) when I was 20 and he was 24. I was (am) still in school, so making minimum wage and he was making maybe $1600 a month before taxes. Our first rental was an apartment, and now we are renting a house (actually cheaper than our old apartment).
We will get married next fall, and I’m hoping for a decent paying full time job as well. But we aren’t planning on buying a house any time soon, and are comfortable renting. We don’t have much in loans and aren’t particularly materialistic people, so even though we don’t have a ton of money we are happy 🙂

I am 23, he’s 27, our combined income is $124k/yr; with a monthly take-home of ~$8,000k. But we also live in the Sonoma Wine Country in California, so our cost of living is higher than most.
ETA: Where you live plays a HUGE role in what you make and spend on things– for example, we just bought a 4b/2ba house in a nice (not definitely not fancy neighborhood) for $310k– in most other parts of the country that same house would go for around $100k.

I’m almost 24 (next week!) and he’ll be 24 next month. Together we make a over $4k a month, though he’ll probably be getting his yearly raise within the next few months.

@Jamcnair: I think full time work makes a big difference. Fiance works full time but I only work part time because I am back in school and my income is hugely reduced from what I earned when I used to work full time considering I only work 6 hours a week.

I voted wrong. Over $10,000 and 37+

I’m 27, he’s 31, when we get married I’ll be 29 and he’ll be 33…I’ll be making roughly 60k and he will be about 65k, so about 125k a year, together. We live on Long Island though, and it’s so damn expensive! ETA-just saw that you were asking monthly amounts…we’ll be between 7 & 8k monthly.

I’m 25, he’s 24. 9500 a month between us before tax. More with bonus’s but they depend on how the stockmarket is doing.
