I’m just trying to get an idea of how much money we should set aside for prints from our photographer.
She charges $750 for a leather-bound, flat-page book of photos (which is too expensive for us right now,) so we were just going to get 1 photo canvas printed… but she strongly suggested we use *her* when we do, because she knows how to properly align/size the photo or something (I forget her specific reasoning).
The earliest our photos will be done would be the end of July (that’s what she quoted us,.. our wedding was May 17th,) so I don’t want to bother her with emails about the cost of printing right now.
Anyway… how much did your photographer charge you for 1 canvas print? And if you’d like to add, what size was it?
*Bonus: Did anyone here just use a canvas printing service themselves and *NOT* go through his/her photographer? If so, what service did you use and how much did it cost?

Have you tried Canvas Pop for self printing?

TonyClifton: I haven’t, but I’ll definitely look into it.
I’m a little nervous having them done, because she made a big deal about quality/graininess and how she really knows how to do it right… so I’d be afraid I wouldn’t do it right.
Or that maybe the finished files she gives us (we’re getting all of our wedding photos on a jump drive) aren’t a high enough resolution for canvas print..

LadyMoriarty: try a smaller size (also cheaper) first, and if it looks good, send them a file for a bigger size. A printer should be able to tell you if the quality of the file is high enough. Would she give you a big enough file to print?

My photographer gave me a photo release to make my own so I got a huge canvas (2 foot by 3 foot) for like 40.00. The quality is spectacular! By The Way, this was for my engagement pictures.
