Cups were 30$
One bustle 20$
I would go to a alterations place that is right next to a bridal store, but is not the high priced bridal store in your area.
I was going to have her do more alterations but she made sugestions that would allow me not to it saved me a ton of money. I was going to get two estimates but after her final price I was sold.

ouch but at least you could get anything you wanted done
All I’m thinking I will need done is the sweetheart added, possibly cups and a bustle. The dress fits me almost perfectly (I hope it still does I bought it 3 months ago!)

I go in April and I am nervous to hear the cost!
Ugh – we don’t have the final cost of my alterations yet (he said just hemming/bustling a dress like mine the way I want it would be around $100) 🙁 but my mom insisted we go with the person we are going with, so I guess in the end, it doesn’t matter (she keeps saying she would rather pay for peace of mind than worry and he is really great) I don’t think that it would be over the top if I wasn’t doing a couple of changes – oh and the fact that my dress is now “huge” as he says on me – over an inch needs to be taken in on each side and we are lowering the back and adding buttons all the way down (it was my dream to have buttons) 🙂
I didn’t get an expensive dress (thank goodness) but now I worry that my savings on the dress are going to be eaten up by alterations…thank goodness mom is covering this tab
i think that shopping around is a great thing to do especially if you have the time!

For 4 layers to be hemmed and making a french bustle $150, she is also steamming my dress for free!
At any bridal shop though I was qouted, $350-450! I ended up going to a taylor shop that someone reccommended and they are wonderful wonderful wonderful!

AHH I feel I totally got ripped off!!! Mine came to $600. I got hem, bustle, sides taken in and cups put in. I got my alterations done right at the salon I bought which probably was a mistake because they obviously hugely upcharge! But I had no idea what the cost would be until after my first appointment.

oh wow! your price is making me feel a whole lot better about my hemming/bustle quote – i was worried he was overcharging. we went to a tailor as well though, so i’m hoping that helps with costs

Hem and Bustle: $400. I think it’s kinda regional…but I also didn’t shop around because we got such a good deal on the dress, we just had the alterations done at the boutique where we got the dress.

400 – for sides taken in, hem shortnened a bit, cups added, bustle (which is the majorty of the cost because my dress is layered and asymmetrical), and adding a one-shoulder to it.

$700, but I’m adding long sleeves to the dress.

I only had to have the straps taken in…David’s Bridal did mine for $20.00. Same place I bought the dress.

Ok went to DB and it cost me $105 for a 5 layer hem and add a sweetheart. It was less than I was expecting.
Wow! I didn’t know they did sweetheart necklines! The DB I went to said they couldn’t alter the design of the dress at all (which I thought was weird). My friend’s mom is going to do a fitting on me tomorrow. I have no idea what she will charge me but if its too much I may go to DB and ask again.

I had the bust tightened ($40) and the train removed ($100)… plus tax etc soooo $150
They said i was the easiest fitting they’ve ever done
