I had my second meeting with my florist last Saturday and now I know quite exactly what our flowers going to cost. She told me around 570,00 EUR (ca. 750,00USD) + 100,00 EUR (ca. 132,00USD) for work and fuel (and fuel is REALLY expensive these days in Germany). My fiance dropped his mouth when I told him the price (well, a few months ago it was nearly exactly the same price she told me by rule of thumb). We’ll have orchids and roses. The price includes:
bridal bouquet (orchids and a few roses)
the flower for the groom to pin on (how do you call that properly?)
flowers for the church (altar and 20 benches)
flowers for the car
flowers for our seats in the church
So what are yopur experiences? I don’t think that price is unreasonable, but my fiance made me insecure… And I told my florist to save money where she can, so it’s gonna be probably a bit cheaper.
I would appreciate your feedback!

I think your pricing is off in USD. It has to be! That is almost a million dollars, which would buy me a mansion, a great car and a new wardrobe! 🙂
ETA: Even if it is 57,000 Euro, that is almost $75,000 USD which is more than most people spend on two weddings.

ops, I mean USD750 + USD132, does that make more sense?? 😉

@Bernie1407: Yes! That actually is a really good price for all your flowers! But it is all regional, unfortunately. I’m an hour outside of Toronto and the pricing here is about 20% less than in the big city.

I think that’s pretty reasonable. We paid just under $1000 USD for:
8 centerpieces, 4 tall and 4 short
2 large arrangements for the church
2 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets
3 Corsages for moms and grandmas
6 bouts for groom, groomsmen, dads and grandpas
12 small centerpieces for the cocktail hour

We are doing our own flowers (all calla lilies) and spent $350 on them all. We will have my bouquet (24 flowers), 2 Maid/Matron of Honor bouquets (15 flowers), 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets (12 flowers), a flower girl bouquet (6 flowers), 3 mother/grandmother bouquets (3 flowers each), 15 boutonniers, an arrangement honoring those who are no longer with us, and then we have about 50 flowers left over. We don’t need centerpieces or outside decorations.

Thank you all! Well, I think the prices of my florist seem reasonable. If we want orchids, we have to pay for them;-) But I trust in my florist and hope that she can cut what is possible to save some money. EUR700 sounds really much if you hear that the first time. But considering the work behind this all and the pricy flowers I can surely live with that. Hope my fiance can live with that too:-/
