My hair and makeup artist was charging me $460 for just my hair and makeup but since we need to start an hour earlier shes tacking on an extra $110 dollar early morning fee. I’m just wondering if prices are always this crazy?

I am not sure hunny as I did my own makeup and and a local mobile hair dresser who charged £50. But I didn’t have time to shop around ECT. However I know my friend paid £350 for her hair and makeup about 2 yrs ago. If you have time shop around, sorry can be more helpful than that x

Well, I am sure it depends on where you live as to whether or not that is pricey, but I paid $100 for my own makeup (plus $75 per bridesmaid), and $100 for hair into an updo, but our location was somewhat rural. I do know of places closer to where I live that charge much more, not sure I would’ve gone that route even had the location been elsewhere. As far as the early morning fee, I wouldn’t be a big fan of that…you may want to at least research to see if anyone else is a bit more what you would consider reasonable, and then if not then you have to go with her. Good luck.

ikuyo: an early fee? Really because 460 is not enough? Ibpaid 285 for day of and trial with false lashes.

haha it makes me think I would have been better off to learn how to do my own makeup and hair but it’s a little late in the game to start learning now

ikuyo: holy shit that seems insane! I was charged $40 for my trial makeup and it will be $50 the day of, with fake lashes same for any bridesmaids.
My hair is about $40-50!
I live in a city in The Midwest.

After I had made the arrangements for our hair ($75 each) and makeup ($100 each), a friend of mine offered to do it for free, but who knows if she would have done as good a job. My DH’s side of the family, namely Mother-In-Law, et al., insisted that makeup artists make you look like a clown. Whatever lol

- Wedding: May 2015 - St Peter\'s Church, East Maitland, and Bella Vista, Newcastle
That seems ridiculously expensive. Mine will be $160 for both hair and makeup (including false lashes if I want them) and my bridesmaids $140 each. My trials were great and I’m thoroughly happy with my hair and makeup artists.

ikuyo: I think it depends on where you live, you’ll notice a price difference. My make up artist and hairstylist both came to me. I paid $100 total for make up (that was with trail which I used for my engagement photos, lip gloss to keep, lashes and air brush make up) and I spent about $150 total on my hair which was trial, cut, high lights, hair style on the day of the wedding. I live in South Western Ontario and these were the people I found, however, I know my make up artist has changed her packages and prices went up a little this year but shes offering more!

It will be $150 per person for me as long as my party gets it too. If not its 250 for just me in Houston area.

ikuyo: i paid about $400 or so for my hair and makeup, they opened early but no early opening fee. I paid more than I would have liked to for hair and make up but in my area wher ei live, anytime you tack on the word “wedding” they jack up the prices.
