I’m on the East Coast, and I’m paying $125 for makeup and $150 for hair. This is how the break down looks:

$50 for makeup trial

$75 for makeup on wedding day

$70 for hair trial

$80 for hair on wedding day

I had to look around a bit before finding these prices.  Other places were wayy too expensive and also wanted to charge me travel fees.

I’m paying $275 for hair and makeup in Seattle, trial, airbrush foundation, and lashes included.

I’m paying $75 for just makeup for my Maid/Matron of Honor, includes airbrush foundation and lashes (I would’ve done without the airbrush and lashes but my MUA added it on for $20 and I figured meh.)

I’m paying $100 for my engagement shoot makeup and hair.

grace14:  I am also from Southern California. I paid $150.00 for my hair and makeup trial and an astounding $345.00 for bridal hair and makeup for the day of. I am using a company based out of LA called Susie Chhuor, they are good. I also tried a lady who does hair and makeup out of her home, her name is Elizabeth Hickman, she was really good too. She is based out of Irvine. And yes, very expensive, especially in California.. Good luck!

grace14:  I’m in Orange County and my MUA came out from Burbank to do both my trial and day-of makeup and hair. $75 for the trial, $130 for the wedding day ($85 for my maid of honor). No travel fees. PM me if you’d like her info 🙂

I am looking into this myself (I live in Arizona but am getting married in San Diego) and my goodness it seems expensive.  Looks like about $150 for the trial and closer to $400 for the day of, since I need to pay a travel fee for the day of.

grace14:  my wedding will be in SoCal too… Let me tell you it costs waaaaay too much. I tried going to a bridal salon and getting a hair trial (not a specific wedding hair person or anything) and it was 50 dollars and underwhelming.  what I’m doing now is changing my hair from up with flowers in it to down with a really pretty mantilla like veil.  That way, I can just curl my own hair and leave it down (everyone always says I look good with it down anyways). I am also doing my own makeup.  Most brides want a natural look anyways… It’s pretty easy to do.  We don’t have a bunch of money to spend, it comes with getting married young so I’m just accepting my DIY hair and makeup fate lol

I’m in OK so it is a little less expensive here. My hair & makeup trial will be $120.

Then, since I have other people getting their hair/ mu done, I get a bit of a discount on the wedding day services. Hair is $65 and makeup is $85 for the bride. For everyone else, both services are $65 each. Without additional bookings, the bride alone is $175 for hair and makeup.

Those prices don’t include lashes, I don’t think.

I live in the Central U.S. and am having my hair and makeup done by a rather famous salon. Make-up (includes airbrush and eyelashes) and hair with one trial will be $290.

lindsey2015:  I can relate! I was underwhelmed by the original way I was going to style my hair, so I’m probably just going to wear it down and curled. I also figure I can’t afford a makeup artist who would make enough of an impact, so I’m planning to do my own.

silverandgold:  EXACTLY for me its not worth paying to get my hair done unless I’m looking to get some crazy complicated up-do

I am getting married in Southern California too and it is super expensive. I have been trying to look around but I think I will just do my own. I have slick hair though so I am hooping that I will be able to get the veil to stay in place!
