I really wish people would do a search on this topic instead of it popping up every four or five days.

Cost depends on SOOO many things. Where you live, what skill level your photographer has, how ‘in demand’ the photog is, how much you value photography, How long you will need them for the day, what kind of sessions and products you want to walk away with.

It’s also perceived value. Some people are ok with someone starting out and paying a lower price, but then go and spend $5k on a dress or flowers. Others will spend half their budget on a great photographer. Do some research in your community for photographers you like and then compare them.

Others, PLEASE search a topic before you post a new thread on the subject. There are people who have been on here for years {myself included} and have answered these questions over and over again.

@PizzutiStudios:  Calm down.  If you aren’t interested in answering the question again, then stop clicking in the post. Easy as pie.  The title in this one was very clear.

OP, I’m paying about $4,000 for all photos on disc, album, 2 parent albums, a handful of professionally printed photos, and a bunch of other things.  She’ll be with us for 10 hours the day of the wedding.

We paid $1585.00 for 6 hours of photography, 6 hours of videography, 1 hour engagement photo session, 2 discs one in high resolution and the other in low resolution. We also get a photo album of 200-250 4×6 photos. I had also gone to a couple of bridal shows and won gift certificates to the same place. So I had $150 in gift certificates. We really paid $1435.00.

These are the times that I am SO excited to be a graphic designer….I am trading with two of my amazing clients/friends and will only be paying $150 in travel fees to one of my photographers. The other is travelling for free. They’re both AMAZING and have their own businesses, so I’m very excited. Saving about $2k *dance*

The guy I’m looking at right now is $1500 for just him, $1850 if he brings a second shooter. We get full release to all the images and in both edited and raw format so we can edit down the line if we want to. We also get a $150 purchase credit. That is all day long, no limit on time, which is key for me – hourly packages stress me out a bit.

He’s on the lower end of what I was finding that had the style and level of skill I was comfortable with. I do want nice photos, but it’s not an area I wanted to splurge, so I think he’s a good fit for us.

We just booked & put the deposit down on ours! It’s going to end up being $2,000 for 2 shooters (hubby & wife team) at 6 hours total, 2 locations, unlimited pics, online proofing gallery (her proofing galleries average about 1,500 photos). Plus, we get the edited high-res images on a disk with a shared copyright, a free e-session, and the use of her experience (her previous career was an event planner!). Ended up being about $300 more than I wanted to spend but definetly under the cost of most of my local favorites (under no circumstance was I going to pay over $2,500!).
