We paid a $100 downpayment for the officiant and photographer together. It’ll be like, $395 after all is paid, but that is for both the photographer and the officiant. They were a package deal.

Our officiant cost $300. She is a pastor but we are not members of her church. Generally, I think the cost is lower if one of you is members of their church, and if you are financially strapped, I’m sure he/she would work with you on the cost.

We are not members of any church locally, but we are both Christian and are having a non-denominational  Christian ceremony.  The officiant we hired is $400, which seemed like a lot to me, but that seems to be the going rate where I live.  I believe it’s usually less if you’re using the pastor of a church that you are members of or attend regularly.  Sometimes it’s even on done on a “donation” basis.

We used our pastor. My parents paid him $50. But that’s normal for around here

Fiance is a government employee, and knows a lot of judges. We’re having a judge do our ceremony for free. We lucked out.

dreamr12:  $600ish. I think it’s on the high end, but when I looked around, all of the officiants nearby charged approximately that much.

Fiance and I aren’t religious so we don’t attend a church. We found a local minister who officiates secular ceremonies off-site, and he charges $400. That includes a custom ceremony script, rehearsal coordination, and a keepsake book with the ceremony script in it.

Ours was $300 for the ceremony and rehearsal the day before. Everyone else we found was like $400 and up and there was no way I was gonna pay that.

ours is $150, which is a great deal. She’s new on the scene, but has great reviews and our personalities clicked. I got a bunch of quotes for $300- almost $800 (ridiculoussss! the more personalized you want your ceremony, the more expensive they get! lame!)
