It’s crazy how much it varies!  I went in thinking it was going to be very expensive.  We found a local girl that could make a 3 tier cake that serves about 80 and then 2 sheet cakes to serve in total 150, all for $200.  My aunt sweetly is giving us $800 to spend on our cake and I really want to wow her with an incredible cake, so I’m still shopping around to see what place tastes and looks the best!

darian115:  Wow. $150 is ridiculously reasonble. Just make sure you’ve seen/tasted some of the baker’s work to make sure it’s of a professional caliber.

We didn’t have a cake; rather, we had 180 gourmet cupcakes in several different flavous and a small cutting cake for myself and my grrom. We paid around $450 including delivery, set-up, and tower rental.

$1000 for our four tier cake, I could hardly sleep at night knowing how much it cost lol! It had an intricate design and was very beautiful and tasty though, and mostly worth it since it was a big focus at the entryway of the reception

We also had a $250 grooms cake – didn’t really think it was worth it.

Our cake was 1600 dollars. It was 6 tiers with sugar flowers in between each tier. The bottom tier was the only one that was actual cake and we had sheets of cake in the back. It was enough cake for our 500 people wedding.

Considering the size, I think the price was not too bad.

UK bride here! It’s very easy to blow a fortune on a cake here, I went to a wedding fair where they were selling £3,000 cakes!! Errr noo!! Me and Darling Husband pre ordered a simple 3 tier cake from M&S for £200 along with some cutting bars should we run out of the actual cake itself.

I don’t begrudge anyone paying for a swanky cake but it was just something I personally didn’t want to blow the budget on 🙂

We paid $540 for ours. It is a 5 tier cake though, one fake layer, and amazingly gorgeous. It was originally $700, but for the month of february, they had  dea where if you booked in full you got 20% off, free delivery, and they pay your taxes. So our 5 tier cake was $540 all in, taxes and delivery included as well as the cake stands and the stands for our cupcakes as well

$150 is really good. I was so scared mine would be about $300 but my mom found this bakery by her house pretty cheap. Mine will be $120 for a 3 tier cake and $1 mile delivery fee. I getting the smooth buttercream icing. This is what I’m getting Minus the cupcakes.
