Mine was three tiers, served 80ppl (with leftovers) cost about $100… Because I made it myself!!!
$100 was cost of ingredients only, including 1kg of high quality white chocolate in the cream cheese frosting and decorative elements such as gold leaf, and fresh fruit and flowers. The cake itself (Hawaiian carrot cake) was full of macadamias and pistachios and other good things so it was more expensive than a simple mud, red velvet, etc.
Ours will be $600 for a simply decorated 3 tier cake (to feed 100 people) but with fairly big sugar cake toppers of us on top. I just cannot resist the idea of mini-sugary figurines of us lording over the cake just amuses me so much.
nikkimelbs: That is gorgeous and delicious looking! Amazing!
I know a lot of people that go their cakes from Publix. They were beautiful, delicious, and seemed quite affordable.
$635 for a 4 tier (130 ppl) two flavor (Red velvet and chocolate raspberry) partial fondant with buttercream rosettes. This was 20% off due to friend of family and were located in NJ.
I’m in the midwest. Our cake was around $375, 3 tiers, buttercream (not a fan of fondant, eww), simple decor, and fed 120 guests with the top tier leftover.
Peaceoutboyscout: Upper midwest here. At first I wanted cupcakes, but we felt it was easier just to get a sheet cake to be served.
So, we went to a local grocery store and had a cake done. I just wanted a 2-tier cake for the topper we had, and then served our guests sheet cake. We ordered enough sheet cake for about 220 people (after final count), and kept the round ones to eat after and the top tier for our 1-year. Both cakes were just vanilla, as Darling Husband isn’t big on flavors and we figured that would work for everyone. For that all, it was just over $200… and was great!
We could have had a bakery in town do it, but this was just what we wanted. It’s just cake.
This was similar to our sheet cake, but it had blue flowers. I don’t think I ever got a pic of the sheet cake before it was cut.
I paid $610 for 100 servings. Although I think $100 of costs was just for sugar flowers. It was still the best cake I have ever tasted
