We spent $60 on a custom illustration to be designed and then 6.35 a piece for 30 invitations which are three page livrets with the last page being a tear off RSVP postcard. We also added .40/piece to have our custom envelopes have all the recipient and return addresses printed on them. In total we spent over $200 for 30 custom invites/RSVP postcard/addressed envelope package.

christabel:  oh no I didn’t mean it negatively!! I meant it to uplift the DIY bees because it’s very difficult to be one! Of course Expensive invites are very very beautiful for sure- I was just expressing my love of DIY and the fact that people really do appreciate the effort put into them. Apologies all around Rudeness was not my intent!

We have paid around $900 for:

– Invitation

– Reception card

– Gift information card

– RSVP card

– RSVP return addressed envelope

– All guest envelopes printed

On a gold pearl shimmer cardstock.

I know I could have gotten something heaps cheaper or could have DIY’d but i’m so glad I just had them custom designed & printed for me.

Massive kudos to all the DIY brides who find the time to create their masterpeices!

We’ll order them from a website for ~ 5 € (= 5,50 – 6 USD) a piece. That includes the invitation card (including an upcharge for fancier paper), an information card and the envelope; not included are postage and calligraphy (which I’ll do myself). RSVP cards aren’t that common over here, so we decided to skip those. Altogether we tried to find a pretty and classy-looking standard invitation at a reasonable price, as we couldn’t justify spending hundreds of bucks or hours and hours of work on stationary that most people will probably just throw away right after receiving them. Not gonna lie, if I had a little more financial wriggle room, I would most likely have opted for custom invites, but as it is we have decided to spend the money we have elsewhere…
