Holy poop! I had my mom’s dress cleaned before I wore it (she didn’t clean it in 30 years!), and they charged me $200 for the cleaning. I now need to get it cleaned after I wore it…I’m going on 3 years, so I really need to get on it.

But $800 seems like a lot to me. Does it have a lot of intricate beading or lace?

I think like $25, my Mother-In-Law took care of it and saw a deal that said dry cleaning under a certain weight special.  She took my wedding dress in and the guy laughed at her but said he hadn’t specified so he’d do it.  She gave him a nice tip though, not sure how much, just said she was nice, so it worked for us.

I didn’t have beading or lace on mine though.

$80, because one of my BM’s mom owns a drycleaning business.  Normally $200 is the max price around here, with most places aroune $150.

I paid $150.  That was just to clean it; I didn’t get it preserved.

I would question a cleaner that was cheaper than $150 to clean – would expect $25-$50 more for preservation.  Prices will be different in different parts of the country, but I would be very skeptical of any place under $150 no matter where you live.  If someone is doing a thorough job there should be a lot of hands-on time (spot cleaning, pressing etc…) which takes hours. $800 though seems OUTRAGEOUS!  PM me if you want cleaner recs.
