Well this is making me feel really shitty. I’m paying $600 for my hair and makeup and $150 for each bridesmaid’s hair and makeup. This is considered “cheaper” too in San Francisco.

My hair and makeup was $350 total ($200 makeup, $150 hair). TOTALLY worth it!

I’m in Los Angeles and most people were charging 400-500+ for bridal hair and makeup and didn’t include a trial which was ridiculous to me. I ended up finding someone I LOVED and she charged $260 and the trial was $100. I enjoy doing my own makeup as well but I don’t regret getting it done professionally at all. I felt so amazing and my hair was something I could have never in a million years done myself. Plus airbrush foundation is amazing! She also included a nice touch up kit with my lip color, hair spray, lash glue, and blotting sheets.

My h&mu was pretty inexpensive. My MUA was bomb, but my hair was ehh. Its just under $200 for both including trials for both. I found a few MUA that charged $350 just for bridal makeup. No trial even!

I’m debating finding a new hair person but its a Destination Wedding so its more difficult 🙁

Hair and make-up for me was $160…make up for my bridesmaids and stepmom was $100 each. She was much more reasonable than anyone else I researched in the DMV and she did an awesome job!

About $500 for hair and makeup for me and two bridesmaids, plus a makeup trial for me.

Hair and makeup trial was $75 and for the day it is $175 plus tip. I am pretty good at doing my own makeup and feel confident and comfortable doing it on my wedding day so I regret booking. Especially since I hated the trial, but my Fiance and mother knows it’s safer to have them do it and me fix and tweak it than to do it all myself on the day.

Zero. I did it myself.

I paid $300 floor hair and makeup.  That included a complete hair and makeup change before the ceremony.

I had 3 looks, one for church, one for after church and one for reception

I’m undecided on whether or not to do my own. There are so many people who hated their trials. I’m comfortable doing my own because I have bad rosacea and I will never leave the house without my daily application of pancake batter. 😛

I am in a rut when it comes to “pretty” makeup, though, so as a backup, I’m going to Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart, which will both do a makeover if you buy $50 worth of products. That’ll be a good investment of $50 even if I go with a MUA on the wedding day.

I think this is a good idea for all brides as a backup in case your MUA doesn’t show up! Someone in the “regrets” thread had this happen. I think the venue was pretty remote and there was a traffic tie-up or something.

Makeup was $65 for me. Bridesmaids had two different looks to choose from costing $45 and $55. Both of our mother’s makeup was $55.

Mine was about $50. I think this is on the low end, but she was amazing.

Totally depends on how you are with makeup. Can you consistently do it well, and does it hold up over time? Or do you mess up your eyeliner when you get nervous and feel that your skills are hit or miss? I’m in the second category and so glad I sprung for it, as otherwise I’m sure I would have been stressed trying to get it perfect while thinking about everything else. But if you’re confident in your own skills, go for it!

My hair and makeup is costing me $130 total and she is amazing! Ranked best of and everything. She’s extremely reasonable and I’m paying her an extra $50 to be on location.

I’m not huge on my wedding details but I care a lot about my phsyical appearance and will have pictures for years to come so I’m elated to have found someone talented and reasonably priced.

The truth is, at the beginning of wedding planning I was definitely pinching pennies. It helped a lot then but as the wedding gets closer (11 days now) I’m more inclined to throw money at something just to give myself less stress. LOL.
