    We had just about 130 guests and spent $8,000 for an open bar.

    We’re estimating 300 will come and spending $4,000 on premium open bar.

    I’m commenting because I’m interested to hear what people spent. We are having 255 people and if it’s open bar it’s about $10k…which is insane. Wondering if doing consumption or open up until x amount is a better idea.

    My 6 hour open bar is $39 per person.  This does include all of my tables, nice upholstered chairs, leather couches, and linens from the venue as well so keep that in mind.  I’m probably going to have about 80-85 people.  Open bar includes beer (domestic, local), liquor (including some made by the venue), wines.

    So that is about $3315 for us.

    @PaganJenny:  All of our alcohol is provided by the venue based on per person. It’s $14 a person over 21 for 6 beer and wine choices, premium mixed drinks/shots and a daquiri/margerita/cosmo bar for 5 hours.

    I hired an independant bartender.  We are paying $11 per person 21+, $5 per person under 21.  So for 70 adults, 30 kids with taxes and the toasting fee, we are paying around $1100.  That includes a premium beer, a lite beer, and 4 different wines plus sodas/bottled water.  Bar will be open from 4:30 to 11:00.

    We can bring in our own alcohol (in fact we have to).  We’re spending about $2,000 on 4-5 kegs and a lot of wine, as well as a few drink dispensers of cocktails for cocktail hour.  ~150 guets for two nights (“welcome dinner” bbq the night before with at least one keg and a bunch of wine.)

    In my book, beer + wine + signature drinks (as long as they’re fairly universally pleasing) is totally fine.  I’m not a big liquor drinker though.

    @PaganJenny:

    Our venue just gave us an estimate, since we have to pay for everything 2 weeks before, we are having 160 guests and its $6000. We are charged by the glass.
