I found the cutest little personalized Christmas ornaments, but they are only $14 each and that seems a little cheap considering everything the girls have done for me. I’ll have to come up with a few other things to go with it. Any ideas?

My bridesmaid gifts were personalized for each girl. I got them all something I thought they’d love, that wasn’t wedding related, and was something they could use again. I voted $75-100.

I spent a little over $100 a girl. They have had to listen to me talk about weddings non-stop for almost 2 years so I think its pretty well deserved 😉

I spent around $200 per girl for a couple reasons:
1. I’m having a Destination Wedding and it’s etiquette to spend more on Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts
2. I have a shopping problem 🙂
3. I only have 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man.

@SweetVanity: I think I’m going the personalization route too. I have a few things in mind for each girl that I think defines their unique personality. 🙂

I didn’t spend a huge amount, mainly because I asked very little of them and had a very “budget” wedding in the first place. I didn’t feel like spending $200 each when my wedding was only around 9K was the norm. I did spent around $30-$35 each, I think, which was more in line with the budget of our wedding.
1. Personalized bags – they all work in schools and *loved* them. And used them for the day-of and continue to use them for overnights or teacher books, etc.
2. Jewelry – Cocktail rings (that were the same), earrings (tailored to the individual)
3. Other small but personal things – one got a bookmark, the other two each got different magnets (these were cheap, but reminded me of each girl)
4. I also created a “thank you letter” that I wrote that incorporated lots of pictures from each of our friendships.

Is the poll per person or total? I’m assuming per person, right? I’m looking at gifts now, in the $50 range but nothing is decided yet.

@edub: Yes, I was thinking per person.

I am probably spending $50-60 each on them. I am getting them each a pair of earrings, a cute clutch with a personalized message in it (and colors/design picked for each girl), and a pair of flip flops. My Future Mother-In-Law also is getting them each a pashmina type scarf incase it is chilly the day/night of the wedding.

I spent about $250 per girl plus I’m paying to have their hair done for the wedding. Like a PP, I’m having a Destination Wedding and everyone is traveling plus spending money on a somewhat pricey hotel for 2 nights ($200 a night after taxes), plus they all traveled for my bachelorette party and spent money on lodging, plus I have great friends and we’re in our thirties and have the means to spend a little more on them. My Fiance similarly purchased very nice suits (originally $1000 but on sale for $330) for each of the groomsmen.

I spent 20$ on each girl..because I found good sales…but also because my bridesmaids didn’t do hardly anything…and I refuse to buy them expensive gifts when none of them could be there for me…Lets see…I asked my maid of honor to pick up some sparkling cider for my bridal shower and she was mad that she had to do even that..so after that point..I just stopped asking for help. I had to even pick up there dresses because somehow they couldnt find the time to do it…I felt very alone in this process so I voted $0-$25

I plan on spending $50-100 per girl. Their dresses are going to cost more than that.

@Bazingau: That’s kind of what I’m thinking. The girls have spent between 2-300 on their dresses/alterations, and they have traveled for showers, etc., so I feel the least I can do is get some decent stuff for them!

I didn’t vote on your poll since I spent more. But I only had 3 bridesmaids. I paid $100 towards each of their dresses, paid for hair & makeup, each got a monogrammed LL Bean tote, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bathrobe that I personalized. Also, I bought the flowergirl dress for my niece as a gift to my SIL who was a bridesmaid. I felt like I needed to go all out for each girl because they all had to travel cross country for the wedding.

I didn’t vote… I gave them earrings and necklaces, the earrings were pretty cheap the necklaces faux pearls. I also gave them flip flops and pashminas. If you add that stuff up, it was probably $35 or $40.
I paid for dresses, hair and makeup as well.
They paid for nails (if they wanted them), shoes ($20) and clutches (they found them themselves) ($10). So the cost to them was pretty minimal. They also brought food and drinks for all of us on the day-of.
