I am getting hair done for myself and 4 others, and makeup for myself and 5 others (one of the moms only wants makeup, not hair). The cost is $580 + tip, so about $700. This is for us going to the salon, but it basically ends up with us taking over the salon, we can bring food & drinks, etc. That includes hair & makeup trial for me as well. I can’t remember the exact breakdown, but obviously the bride’s is more expensive with the trial and then they gave me a 15% discount for doing it as a package and paying for it in one group vs individually.

I preferred to go to the salon because I think it will keep the hotel room neater (and where we are getting ready is our room for the night) and it’s a small enough salon/town that running late isn’t a big worry and we will get the salon mostly to ourselves.

For hair, nails and make-up for myself and 2 bridesmaids it was about $400.

It totally depends on where you live. Wedding costs here in Houston are above the national average, so the MUA/hair stylist I hired – who was the most inexpensive one I could find who is willing to travel to our venue! – charges $50 hair/$50 makeup for BMs (an extra $10 for false lashes, and extra $10 for airbrush makeup), and my bridal hair and make-up will be ~$180 total. Ugggh so expensive. Remember that you are expected to tip, too. Doing a trip to the salon, like you mentioned, will definitely save you money, because most people also charge a travel fee. Good luck!

My hair and makeup for me, 4 BMs and the flower girl is costing $1200.  Nails are not included in that…

I was getting ridiculous quotes of $150-$250 for hair and $150-$175 for make up and I have freckles and am a little particular about my make up so I (inspired by princess Kate) decided I would DIY my make up/lashes so I looked like ME…

Then I found out there was a Toni & Guy academy literally 200 yards down the street from our host hotel that charged $25 for an updo and $15 if you just wanted curls so I thought it was worth it to go for a trial and I loved what the girl did so I had myself, my mom, my MIL, my MOH, my sis BM, my SIL and myself get their hair curled or an updo to suit their taste…

The stylists are students but they consult their expert instructors before and during the whole appointment and I made sure I got ALL senior students (aka about to graduate so with the most experience) and that all my girls were very clear with what they wanted.

It was super affordable and we all got what we wanted then went to the hotel to do make up and it was all very easy and we were all very pleased with how much $ we had saved.

Hair I’m (thankfully!) getting done for free because my aunt is a stylist and she’s giving her services as our wedding gift. She typically would charge between $50 and $100 per BM, depending on what style they were having done to their hair.

My girls are also going to be styled VERY casually – one is simply a messy fishtail, for example. So it shouldn’t take long and will still give her plenty of time to get everyone done!

I didn’t get my hair done, but my BMs paid $40/each at a salon (not on site).

I am only paying for my own hair and make-up and it will cost me about $100 (that price also includes my nails and pedicure).

For my hair trial, day of hair, make-up and 3 bridesmaids updos and 1 bridesmaid blow dry it’ll be just over $450. Ouch. Thankfully we can go to the salon rather than have hair and make up come over otherwise it would have been far worse again!
