ebowers23:  Putting this in writing makes me ask myself what the HECK we were thinking, because we spent a ton.  However, they were beautiful!  For my bouquet, 7 maids bouquets, 2 for moms, bouts for groom, 7 men, 3 dads, 1 grandpa, corsage for gram, plus 15 table arrangements, and 2 giant urns filled for ceremony (that we moved into the reception), we paid about 4k.  I know- that’s terrible!!!  The worst part is, we also bought the containers ourselves (15 vases and the 2 urns).  Would have been more if we did more ceremony flowers but we opted to make bows from satin ribbon that i got on sale that totally looked fine.    If I could redo things….would have spent less on bouquets..even mine.  They were used for some pix, and everyone held theirs for a total of 40 min, then they were put down and never looked at again.

$1200 for 13 low centerpieces, 1 bride bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 8 boutineers, 8 aisle decor/cocktail table jars, flowers for the cake and for the flower girl. Most of it will be hydrangeas with some sporadic greenery or other small white flowers. I think it would be more if I was getting them from a florist but my coordinator worked as a floral designer for years and will be doing them for me.

I’m DIYing my flowers, my bouquet is silk flowers and it came to $30. My centerpieces are succulents and will cost about $150 all together with vases included. We are getting bridesmaid boquets and boutonnières from Wegmans and they will cost about 30 altogether. So grand total of 110 bucks 😀 Flowers are not a high priority for me or my fiancé

From the florist I’m getting

1 bridal boquet

4 bridesmaids

2 mother’s corsages

2 grandmothers corsages

2 flower girl baskets

1 ring bearer boutineer

4 groomsmen bouts

1 groom bout

2 dad bouts

3 grandfather bouts

for about $500

Then for my reception flowers, I ordered 18 bunches of the white combo pack from Fiftyflowers for $95 which I’m hoping will be enough flowers for the reception. (I’m planning on 1 small vase for each table since the tables are smaller and a stem or 2 in each vase.)

I haven’t had my wedding yet, but we are using a u-pick flower farm. They charge 25cents per stem. I would highly recommend seeing if you have anything similar nearby!

The more I think about it, the more I feel like my florist is a bit overpriced (could be my area as well)

for 1500 – I’m not spending much on flowers at all

My bouquet

4 bridesmaids bouquets

1 floral arrangement for the ceremony and

9 centerpieces (WOMP WOMP)

I think the fact I really wanted peonies and garden roses may be the killer as well

Wow…I was just quoted 5k for centerpieces, 2 ceremony sprays, and bouquets. No joke. My jaw dropped, but now that I’m seeing what other people are paying I realize even more how insane that florist was…

beachbee17:  I feel your pain! We’re doing one bridal bouquet, 5 maids, 2 moms, a groom’s bout, 5 groomsmen, 2 dads, and an officiant bout, plus 15 centerpieces (2 low variety and 1 high) of varying peonies, dahlias, astilbe, succulents, hypericum berries, and seeded eucalyptus with the florist, for just over $3200. The vases we purchased ourselves (so that people could take the flower arrangements from low centerpieces – we’re renting all the candle decor and all the parts of the high centerpiece) added $100, and the plants and materials for the succulent place cards/favors were another $500.

All that said, we walked into the floral demo and I wanted to cry. Everything was twice as beautiful as I’d imagined. We live in an expensive market (Chicago) and were researching floral vendors forever, even went down to a floral wholesaler to investigate doing things that way. Our florist was a recommendation from our dream photographer (who we thought was going to be the only big splurge of the wedding) and hadn’t even been on our radar, and she has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
