Man. I’m paying $2800 for 10 hour coverage, one photographer, no e-pics, printing rights. Our package includes a brag book and an art canvas though.

Photography in my area (Ontario, Canada) is pretty expensive compared to elsewhere it seems! I couldn’t find a photographer who offered packages below $2k. I wish I could have the second photographer, e-pics, and all that but it is definitely not in the budget.

we’re on a budget, so I went on wedding wire and asked for custom quotes. we only needed 5-6 hours and dont really have a bridal or grooms party, just us and family pics and pics at our receptions. Found a really good photographer, for 6 hours, with retouched dvd =$600. there were a couple of offers in that range, we had good choices ๐Ÿ™‚ since we didnt need engagement pics or a full day.

1800 for 2 photographers, 8 hours of footage, engagement, bridal session, and a dvd of all our pictures edited and unedited.  She is even going to give us “facebook sized” images so we dont have to cut them down to upload them.  We are also contemplating doing her photobooth for about 80 dollars an hour.  She was such a great deal, and so nice too!!

wow!! I’m glad we have a friend who is a professional photographer. We are paying $600 for 9 hours of unlimited shooting on wedding day, DVD of retouched photos, photo release (so we can print what we want, where we want), DVD of ALL photos taken (even the ones that don’t come out well) and 1 hour at the rehearsal. He will also release a DVD to our videographer so she can incorporate it into our video

I’m from South Carolina too! ๐Ÿ™‚

We paid $2450 for:

An engagement session

My bridal session

12 hours with the main photographer (day of)

8 hours with an extra shooter (day of) (without second shooter would have been $2100)

All our pictures we have/will have a disc of with printing rights as well!

Though we haven’t seen any pictures from our wedding yet, I LOVED our engagement session pictures and my Bridal pictures!

If this price range is within your budget and would like more info on my photographer, feel free to message me for her information, facebook page, and photography page. ๐Ÿ™‚

$3200 for 6 hours, all rights to photos, engagement session, and two shooters. We picked the most expensive photographers in our area, but they’re definitely the best. Photography was a priority (:

@imbisibol:  SEVEN THOUSAND IMAGES?! Are you kidding me!? That’s so amazing!

@Mrs.Kpop:  $8K including albums?! OMG… I live in Lake Forest and that is definitely a SERIOUS amount of cash to spend on photography for our area but at least you loved them! lol Do you mind if I ask who your photographers were and how long you booked them for? I’m so curious what $7K of photography looks like! ๐Ÿ˜€

@MeghN:  LOL I’m TOTALLY making my own album as well! When I saw the price tag for them I was immediately thought “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I SEE GROUPONS ALL THE TIME FOR PHOTO ALBUMS!” lol

As for me,

I originally had no idea what to pay for photography but I had a friend from HS who was an okay wedding photographer so I asked her for a quote and she quoted me $2800 for an e-shoot, 8 hours of two shooters on the day, edited images & printing rights…

I was actually pretty shocked… I thought we were friends?! lol

Anyway, I wasn’t inlove with her work or style so I continued to research others in my area and they were MORE expensive for LESS time and I was just about to settle with her until I fell in love with the photos from a nautical wedding on Style Me Pretty and realized it was from a venue in my area!

The blog post linked me to the photogs and I saw that their day-of coverage starts at my now budget ($2800) but I decided to email them anyway and see what we could do…

I told them the situation and how short on time I was for an eshoot (my Fiance and I are long distance CA-London and he was in town for two weeks to meet with photographers we both liked and have an e-shoot) and we met with them in person and had great chemistry and they decided bc it was so last minute they would throw the e-shoot in for free ($700 value!) so I was stoked and we booked it!

So anyway, for $2800 we get:

-2 hour e-shoot with about 200 images on disk & all rights
-7 hours of “day-of” shooting with two professionals (husband/wife team)
-All images edited (not sure how many – we haven’t gotten them back yet)
-Printing rights to everything & an online gallery so our relatives can order any prints they’d like

We decided to not order an album from them because it was so steep and I’m sure I can make one for less but yeah, that’s what we spent & I can’t wait to see if it was all worth it! lol

$5K (but this took a lot of negotiating from me and it helped that she REALLY wanted to work with our reception venue) for:

  • 2 Photographers
  • 10 hours of coverage
  • DVD of images
  • 1 couple’s album + 2 smaller parent album
  • E-session

We really lucked out with her strong desire to work with our venue (super popular venue) and $5k was the price for her basic package that didn’t include a 2nd photographer and was only for 8 hours.  All in all, we felt like we got a pretty great deal =)

We’re in NYC and paid $3300 before tax for:

  • Engagement shoot
  • Full day coverage (9 hours) with second shooter (and, it turned out, third shooter bc our primary photog was 8 months’ pregnant!)
  • 100 4 x 6 prints, with option to purchase additional prints/sizes at cost
  • Online gallery, CD with all images and digital rights
  • “Mess the dress” or other post-wedding shoot (we’re doing a one-year anniversary session)

Check this out. You can guage rough costs or services.

The albums you compare to the photographer are not EVEN close to what a photographer will give you.. we dont really make money off those albums.. our cost is quiet high. The albums that are consumer brands will not last a lifetime like the photographers will just so you know. There is a reason the are priced that way..
