I bought each of them a nordstrom plush robe that I got on sale (a little over $50) with a gift receipt so they can return it if they don’t like it (or its the wrong size). The robes aren’t for a photo opportunity they’re meant to stay warm in the winter and give a gift I feel will make their lives better. I’m debating also buying them each a necklace for the wedding, and loved two of them from Blue Nile. But I’m worried I’m going overboard in gift giving (a habit I’m known for).
This one is $100
This one is $165
So my question is…how much did you spend on each Bridesmaid? They each paid $145 for their own dress, so I feel like my gift amount should at least match that amount? Or am I way over spending? Did you take into account how much their dresses cost them? Did you take into account the total cost of your wedding?

I think it really depends on you! If also buying each maid a necklace will make you and each maid happy, I would go for it! If you think that a Blue Nile necklace and the robe seems like too much, I am sure you can find a less expensive necklace elsewhere (I would try Bloomingdale’s or Etsy.)
In my case, each maid purchased a dress of their own choosing, so the range was all over the place (probably $50 to $200), so I really didn’t think about dress cost. I paid for their makeup to be done the day of, purchased them several some items beforehand (I love to gift give too!), and for the wedding, purchased each Kate Spade earrings, a clutch, and Rosebud Salve.
Best of luck!

I have three bridesmaids (well, Maid/Matron of Honor plus two BMs).
My current plan is to get each of them a massage in the city where they live for after the wedding, so that’s $80 plus $10 tip each. I voted $50-100 since that’s what I consider to be their gift.
I also purchased their jewelry for the wedding (necklace, bracelet, earrings), but I don’t count that as their gift (especially for my Maid/Matron of Honor – the jewelry is yellow gold and she only ever wears white metals). That was around $90 each.
Note – we also bought their dresses, so they didn’t have that expense for the wedding.
I am debating also getting my Maid/Matron of Honor this awesome scarf I think she will love, which would be another $45. Which then makes me think about getting one of those sodastreams for one of my BMs since she’s wanted one forever but she has no money, which then means I’d have to find something else for my sister/3rd Bridesmaid or Best Man… yeah… I’m no help as far as not over-gifting haha sorry.
If I were you I would get them more than just a robe IF you have the extra money. But it doesn’t have to be over $100 more – there’s sooooo many cute necklaces on Etsy, for example.

I did robes also and then faced the same problem…what else to do? So i went completely practical and got them each this wine carrier with two of their fav wines: https://www.etsy.com/listing/120898438/wine-carrier-beer-carrier-perfect-gift …. that ended up being @ $70 more on top of the robe…they loved it!

Im having bracelets and earrings custom made for my girls. It will cost me about $60 per girl but thats ONLY because the girl that is making them is a friend of mine. Were on a tight budget and this was kinda pushing it.

I really think it depends on the situation “how much you should spend”. This is what I have done.. I made each of my girls a bag. The bags themselves are monogrammed totes because of an awesome deal and store coupon I got the bags for roughly 10 each (normally 20). In the bags are a lotion and body wash (spent $4 each, again I used a sale and store coupon), VS Pink Sleeping Shorts (Paid about $6 at after-christmas sale), insulated monogram cup ($5 on sale), adorable make up bags ($6 at TJ Maxx), Wedding day essentials (lip gloss, balm, oil sheets– total $3.. again after Christmas Sale), Earrings from Charming Charlies (Sale $6 eaach), monogrammed notepads and other small things that I got from the dollar isle at Michaels (about $5 each). I am also putting a cerficate for each to get a mani while I am getting a mani and pedi the day before ($12 each). So total with mani is about 57 each but really the value is much higher I just am a sale shopper!
This may come across wrong, but I didn’t want to spend an arm and leg on the gifts. I love my girls but only 1 has really done anything throughout the wedding process. I do not have a Maid/Matron of Honor so maybe they don’t think they need to help but even when asking, they just kind of ignore me. One is throwing me a shower and spending money on foods, invites, etc. so I may do something special for her. I have actually been upset with one because I asked her to plan a lingere party for my bachelorette party and help me at least plan and it and now she is saying she doesn’t even think she can come… If your bridesmaids go above and beyond, I would do extra but since only one of mine has I don’t feel like I need to spend a fortune. Between there gifts, paying for 3 meals (actual wedding meal, rehearsel dinner meal and bridal luncheon meal) I think we have broke even with what they have spent on a dress and shoes and traveling (They are all close).

I spent between $30-$50 per bridesmaid. They already knew that we were strapped for cash to pay for the wedding, so I think they were pleasantly surprised that I got them anything 🙂

Altogether on the BMs I spent about $75 each and for my Maid/Matron of Honor $150.00. She was amazing and so I wanted to get her a few special things on top of the other gifts.

I’ll probably spend $75-$100 for my bridesmaids. I am also paying for their dresses, hair/makeup, and hotel, but I also wanted to get them something extra. About Blue Nile, I got my bridesmaids necklaces from Blue Nile. They often have a spend $100 get $50 off or something like that. Sign up for their email list – they often have sales too!

This is so hard for me as well since I have 6 in my party and it all adds up. So I’m paying for their make up for th day, and also there jewelry too. ALSO i’ve made them custom bags with “day of” stuff they might need, shawls for the day since it’s winter and custom hangers with their names on it…haha..now I’m thinking I did too much, but really they have done so much for me this last year they deserve it!

@lovelyduckie: I love the robe gifts! My fh bought me one for Christmas, and I love it. Since we’re getting married in the winter, I thought either pj’s with button down tops(for getting our hair done), or fuzzy comfy robes would be a great idea.
I plan on spending about $50-$60/pp, and yes, I’ll probably utilize layaway options(closer to the fall), if it’s more expensive than I budget. I know, some may say ghetto. But, it would help counting it into my “Christmas shopping”, when it comes to the way I work my budgets.
