paying 1500, but in a major city. Think it depends on your location.

I’m in Plymouth, MI and our DJ is going to be $1750 for 6 hours with his upgraded lighting package (DJ is $1500, lighting is $250) this is one of the most expensive DJs in our area, but Fiance wanted the best after I nixed the band that he wanted to hire ($6500!).

$500 is a bargain from where I’m from (Central PA) — there are a few bargain DJs in the $400-$600 range that are unbook-able unless you get them 18 months out; but the average cost here is $800-$1300 for 4 hours (some include a lighting package, some charge extra).

From what I’ve seen you won’t find much for less than $500, that’s pretty much what I’m expecting/hoping to get one for even without lights and stuff, just for music for the evening.

we are paying $1500 for our dj and ceremony service.  This also includes dj lighting and uplighting and pinspotting.

We’re paying about the same for a friend who’s giving us a good deal – 4 hours, minimum set-up.

We’re paying $550.  That is from 5:00 until midnight, and they pretty much act as our DOC.  I love them.
