this is making me feel way better about all your gorgeous, affordable dresses! My friend group tends to pay 3k+ for dresses, and while beautiful, I just can’t imagine spending that much.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have little to no interest in planning my wedding. We’re going to have about 120 guests, and then move to my cousin’s bar for a reception with cake and brisket sandwiches lol. Very low key compared to most small town Nebraska weddings!

I went dress shopping one day by myself just to see what I might be interested in. I’m a girl who mostly lives in gym clothes so I have a hard time feeling ‘bridal’ in any particular dress. They all looked decent and I didn’t have strong feelings about any, really. I ended up catching a David’s Bridal sale and buying two dresses online for about $380 each. Tried them both on at home and picked my favorite and got that altered. With alterations, the drewss will cost about $650. And the dress is gorgeous. It was a sample being sold “as is” ….I didn’t see ANYTHING wrong with it. So I got a $900 dress for $380. 🙂

I got mine from David’s Bridal. It was 585$ tax in for the dress and the belt. I would highly suggest going there for dresses under 1000$. I also love that mine is so light compared to all the others I tried on.

mollymaxx4 :  If you’re in CA I’d recommend checking out http://www.cocomelody.com

They have a brick and mortar store in LA and most of their dresses hover around the $350-$450 range. They have a huge variety of styles and will do custom changes, too. I was 3/4 sold on getting a gown from them, but ultimately decided to go full custom.

Also, Etsy has a lot of great affordable dress options, so I’d check there too.

I got mine second hand from preownedweddingdress. It’s an Ivy & Aster previously $2100 and I paid $250 plus $155 in alterations.

I can relate 100%. I purchased my dress from Dillard’s for $258. Last I checked they didn’t have it online but it’s the brand cachet and they have other dresses on Dillard’s.com. I had my mom add purple tulle to it to reflect my style/personality. It does not have a train. Best of luck finding a dress!

I got mine from a local shop. It was $1,200. $200 more than I had planned on, but I found it online without knowing the price and ended up falling in love.

mollymaxx4 :  look at Dillard’s. I got my gown (I didn’t want a train on my wedding dress) for less than $300 and it’s everything I wanted- lace, some puff, some satin, and bonus points for pockets 😍

I’m in San Francisco as well. I didn’t want to go over $1000 either, but I went to a place called Novella and the dress I fell in love with was $1400, so I bought it. More than I wanted to spend, but not exactly over budget, and it was totally “the one.” Then I got a margarita. 🙂

Mine was a DB bridesmaids dress I wore in a friend’s wedding. I added a hushed commotion belt to personalize it. Dress retails for $100

I definitely recommend you check out https://www.dreamersandlovers.com/. My friend is also getting married and got her dress from them. They’re based in CA, but she’s in NY. She was able to order a try-on sample, so that’s an option. Also she got the final dress in recently and it’s amazing.

I went to Davids bridal and got my dress for $900. It was on sale. I didn’t expect to choose my dress on the first day and didn’t think I’d get it there. What I liked is that I could look online and see actual prices and what would come in my size before hand.

I spent 235 on a knee length ivory bridesmaid dress. I went to a local store but almost every bridesmaid dress came in white or ivory if you still want the traditional colour!
