Airfare- $316 pp straight thru to Mexico. Well like 6 months after we booked, all the airlines did away with nonstop flight to Mexico for that time so that freaking sucks. So now our 3hr 15 min flight, we have an hour layover in Houston Yell. So that really sucks!

AI 5* resort for 7 days

    Travel Insurance

But that is where we are having our private wedding ceremony as well. So we were really happy when we found out that

Our room category included their basic wedding package which includes:

    • On site wedding coordinator

    • Prep of B & G outifts

    • Dressing assistant

    • Officiant

    • Bouquet & Boutonnaire

    • Wedding cake & Champagne

    • Late checkout

    • 15% off spa services

    • 2 free nights for Anniversary
    • All that would be $949 if you bought it outright

And free Honeymoon package which includes:

    • Champagne on arrival

    • Fresh flowers and exotic fruit platter in room upon arrival

    • Champagne breakfast in bed the first morning after arrival

    • Tension Release Massage for two in our couple massage suite (25 minutes)

    • Choice of either a European Facial or a Salt Glow Scrub body treatment for two (25 minutes)

    • Private beachfront dinner one evening- upon return from dinner you will find a romantic candlelit path. (includes a bottle of wine and dinner for two)

    • Private petit fours each evening at turn down service
    • All that would be $949 if you bought it outright as well

That all was $4002… That seems ridiculous to me sometimes!! Maybe it’s because we are parents and looking at that $4002 all I see is the lists of things we could do as a family instead :-/

If I had to do it all over again, I think we would have spent only half that. All I have to say, is when we go on this “weddingmoon” in August it better be worth every penny or else I have no idea how I will get over spending that much money… lol!!

We’re fortunate to have points and miles thanks to my husband’s job.

That being said, I priced it out and if we were to pay for our honeymoon out of pocket it’d be $45,675.

We are spending about $4k between random non-miles airfare, spending money and food.

I voted 6k but that doesn’t include 2600.00 in airfare that a good family friend gave us for our wedding gift. We have so far spent between 4 and 5k on accommodations and travel between islands in Fiji. That price includes food eacH day. There isn’t much for shopping or restaurants in the areas we are going but assume another 1k or so for diving, kayaking, et…  Ive had a little anxiety about the price but keep reminding myself it’s our honeymoon!

My parents are paying for the honeymoon, but vacationing has always been a splurge to your hearts desire type thing for my father, so he’s spoiling us just the same.

But knowingly, its over 10k. First class to and from Mexico, and 9 nights/10 days in the Presidential Villa at El Dorado Seaside Suites in Riviera Maya, but the perks were there to upgrade from the honeymoon suites.

    @blondie634:  🙂

We’re gone for 17 days between Florence, Rome, Tuscany and Cinque Terre, Italy, then Paris, then down to the Maldives for 6 days, back up to Paris and back home.  We’re flying business class the whole time (that’s where the $ adds up!!) and staying in Hiltons (except for 2 nights in Paris when we’re at a boutique hotel), including the Iru Fushi in the Maldives.  Our seaplane transfers just to get to the stupid island and back is $550 per person, each way… for a 45 minute ride.  Also, eating in the Maldives will cost us $80 – $300 per meal because of their jacked up import pricing.

IF we go to Paris for 2 nights, Rome for 3 nights and venice for 3 nights ( which we will take a private water boat taxi right ot our hotel!) and stay in suites every where ( In rome we have to get 2 rooms cause my son is 12 and will be with us and i want to stay right next to St. Peters square ) it would be around 11K…which is why I say IF we go! SO much $$$!!!

We actually lucked out.  My parents have had a time share with Disney for 15 years so they used their points for next year to gift us our honeymoon: a cruise to the Bahamas.  The tickets for the Cruise are around $1,800.  We are choosing to drive to the the port over the course of two days (around 18 hours) to save money on airfare and a car rental for a day.  So really the only expense will be activities on the island, souvenirs, alcohol, hotels for the drive, and gas money.  If we paid for everything it’d probably be around $3,000.

Edit: 3 day cruise to bahamas: one day at sea, one in Nassau, one on Castaway Cay.  We plan on relaxing, shopping, maybe parasailing.

KristenGotMarried Your Honeymoon sounds amazing. Business class adds up so quick but so worth the $$$$ when traveling for long periods of time. Maldives is beautiful and pricey….lucky you for having points and miles.

I voted wrong, ours was around 6.5k. Tickets 1k, resort around 4k (not sure of the exact amount, DH took care of it), food and other stuff around 1.5k

Were spending $8000 but that’s not activities and alcohol so probably about $10000. This is awesome for Luxury in Fiji. Includes lots like flights, transfers, 6 nights. I can’t wait!

We spent around $5k for our 7 day Honeymoon cruise to Bermuda…

    • Cabin: We splurged for a suite so that was $2800.
    • Transportation: We left out of NYC but we live Upstate so we took a bus charter down. That was $200ish.
    • On board account: Booze adds up… $600
    • Spending money on the island (we were there for 3 days): $1000
    • Passport fees and other misc Honeymoon related expenses: At least $500
