(And, yes, I’m showing this thread to FI;) I just recently bought my wedding shoes, and when fi heard that they were $65, not including taxes, I thought he was going to go through the roof! I tried to explain that they were quite reasonable for wedding shoes. He showed me a pair of flip flops for $5. 😉 but seriously, help me plead my case?

that’s def reasonable. the ones i ended up getting were around $78 but the pair i originally wanted was $215

Tell your man I spent $385 on mine (which is not even close to the biggest damage I’ve seen on here!) Darn you beautiful shoes!

Sorry- shoes are what’s costing me $0! I’m wearing my pair of blue cord Toms (after getting them refreshed- my MOH’s dad is a cobbler who can make any pair of shoes look like new!) as my something old! Flats, how I love thee!

$65 for shoes?! you did a great job!! The pair I want the most right now is pushing $600… I was really frugal about my dress, so mabye I can justify it? I certainly won’t be letting my fiance know the cost…

I paid $20.70 for mine on 6pm.com. It took me forever to find a simpler pair of ivory wide width heels. They should be in Wednesday. Fingers crossed that they fit!

I’m going for $450 – that’s a saving of $250!
Fiance knows & acknowledges that this is my somethiggn special1 And besdies, these shoes i will be wearing forever so not considered a ‘wedding cost’

@Araya: I woudl add a poll to get more answers!
I bought the store display pair of my shoes so I got them heavily discounted.
I paid $62 including shipping…
They are regularly $245 + tax & mabye shipping too!
Here’s proof: http://www.myglassslipper.com/wedding-shoes/badgley-mischka/lissa-6841
I also knew I wanted to change out of them for dancing so I bought some sandals too!
$35 for these that were half price at Macy’s
So I came in just under $100 for about $300+ in shoes.
You did well

My pair was $60 originally, but were on clearance at UO for $15!
At that price, I won’t be too upset if I find something else closer to the date. :}

I, the girl who doesn’t care about and never buys shoes, had to go and fall in love with a pair of gorgeous jeweled Vera Wang flats. It was bad, haha. They were $300, thank goodness I found them in a color they were discontinuing (which happened to be one of my wedding colors, navy!) for half off, so I paid $150.

Wow I would be jumping for joy if my shoes only cost $65 lol
We spent way too much on my Jimmy Choos (gift from my lovely FI), but my thinking is that they will go with loads of things after the wedding 😉

I spent a lot on shoes but I justified it by saying that 1) they were comfortable 2) they were unique and special and 3) they made for gorgeous shoe pictures. My Darling Husband was there when I found them and he was the one encouraging me to get them.
Mine were originally around $700 but I found them on MD for $250 or so. It’s been a while so I forgot the exact amounts. This is without tax. Of course, I had to get them fitted with proper soles (since these had beautiful, delicate leather soles) so that was another $20. FWIW, used pairs of my shoes are going on eBay for $350 so in theory, you could sell yours in the future.

I won’t help your case much.. I paid 10.70 for a pair of strappy sandals at Target. However, I don’t 65 bucks is bad at all! So, maybe I will help you! 🙂

Yeah I paid about the same for mine and that was with a major sale! I just don’t tell the Fiance the cost since he would flip out the same way haha
