Our venue is $4000 and doesn’t include anything.  It’s a house and the property it’s on but does not include any rental items.  We are having the ceremony and reception in the same place.

akkaer1:  We are paying nothing for our venue. We found a really nice oceanfront campground in a touristy part of Downeast Maine. We reserved cabins for our guests, so the campground is giving us the location for the reception for free. We are renting a tent, table, chairs, etc, which is going to cost around $1500, but still getting a great deal.

There is definitely a lot of benefit to having a reception somewhere that handles food and drinks for you though! We got a great deal on the space, but we have to deal with finding out own food, alcohol, and people to serve it. We just knew we wanted to have it at a campground where all of our guests could stay RIGHT on site, with us still being outside and on the water. Otherwise I am confident a venue that includes catering and tables and chairs would be so much easier.

MouthOfTheSouth:  We are really wanting to rent a private home to host our wedding. Would you be willing to share the total cost of your wedding? Or expected budget? We’re hoping to spend no more than $12,000 total. The home that is on the top of our list is $3,000 for a week rental…the owner did say she would consider renting it to us for a shorter time, which would obviously cut costs. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks 🙂

I paid $675 to rent it for 24 hours. That included nothing except the space and the few chairs and tables they had.

We are paying $17k (Australian) but thats ceremony and reception… and pretty much everything you need is included in the venue package.  It’s honestly a pretty scary price although I am head over heels for the venue.  Per person it works out to be around $155.

MouthOfTheSouth:  Thanks so much for the breakdown! Though you’ve scared the crap out of me, haha! I am really hoping to stay within our budget..but like you said, it’s your wedding day and you don’t want to have to sacrifice! I hope I can get the best of both! Well good luck finalizing everything 🙂

We paid 1300 for our venue which includes tables, chairs, basic centerpieces, Shepard hooks, and arch. We paid bartender 45 an hour for 5 hours and 250 for the bar service which includes glasses, ice, garnishment, napkins and we get to bring our own alcohol. Then we choose in house catering for about 22/per person do we didn’t have to deal with the mess.

We’ve paid $2,000 for both ceremony and reception (5 hours total I believe).  This includes tables, linens and chairs, as well as a DOC.  Venue was one of our splurges – I wanted a memorable location since so many of our guests will be from out of state!

Ours will be close to $3000 (minus tax and such things).

Includes:

Boat ride down river for guests to arrive

Ceremony and reception

Indoor pavillion, bathrooms, and a large lighted permanent frame tent

3 day access

Tables, chairs and linens

Stereo system and any microphone/extra stereos (no extra charge)

Help day of if need be

Cruise on river for guests after ceremony

boat rides back to parking lot or to nearby hotel hourly during reception

I’m so excited for it! It’s a gorgeous outdoor location with tons of space and character. Plus, boats! We’ll have 75-100 guests.

Venue was free!  (family owned park)

BUT, we paid a few thousand for rentals, catering, etc since we had to bring in vendors for everything from the toilets (thank you portable toilet trailers!), bartenders, tent, food, etc.
