I chose 10k but it was under that without rings and honeymoon.  We spent about $7,500 for 160 people. I did my own makeup and hair.

My sister and her husband spent approx $150K on the wedding, not including honeymoon. They never went to honeymoon, spent too much on a wedding day. With 230 guests in expensive venue ($45K for the venue only!!), I would never spent that much money on mine, here goes downpayment on a house.

My first wedding was huge, over 300 guests and we paid under 5k Total.  He worked at the church so that was free. Including the reception hall.  He was a chef and he used some friends from culinary school to help him cook all the food (prime rib and chicken) and all the rest. We used frozen turtle cheesecakes and pointed the slices outward on mirrors with hydrangeas in the middle and they doubled as centerpieces.  It wasn’t fancy but the food was amazing and we were young (21) and poor but it was a nice wedding.

We spent 18K, not including engagement ring or honeymoon ($5800 for engagement ring and $10000 for the honeymoon) but does include wedding rings. The cost was mostly the food and open bar for 81 guests.

So far we’re looking at under 2k for a wedding reception with about 45 people (we’re doing the vows privately). Venue was $150, dress was $290, beer will be around $450, invites were $130, favors cost us $75, and the food will be around $500 (another $100 for our cake, but then we’re each making a dessert from our family so there will be lots of dessert options). We’ll get some flowers near the day for decoration but probably just some sunflowers in mason jars or small potted flowers from Trader Joe’s. Neither of us wanted a photographer, no DJ, and the venue is already lovely and doesn’t need any major decorating.
