How long is a $20 wedding band supposed to last?  Honest question.

Mine was around $700 at Kay Jewelers; his about $500.  Love them.

My most recent 18k band was about $370 USD?(last year from James Allen). In 2002 My husband’s w-ring, 14k, was around 300 I think. Mine(that I lost),18k engraved vintage but new, was around 500..high400s?.(both from local shops)  …I have a 14k gold band from Amazon that I bought around 2004 but it’s a 4.75 or 4.5 now so I can’t wear that one anymore. LOL It wasn’t very expensive …around 100?

I also have a few thin stacking bands from Etsy sellers that are narrow but sturdy.

His was $800, it was super overpriced for a 14kt gold band but he bought it in hawaii where we got engaged.

Mine is a Tacori band, so it’s worth a few grand.

FI’s band is platinum and cost $2200.  I will be pairing my ring with actually 2 bands (18k rose gold), one bezel setting, one prong setting and together they cost $2250.  We also used some diamonds from our mother’s own jewelry and sold some gold which gave us a $210 credit towards total cost so not a whole lot but it was something!

Not to be a Debbie downer but there are only as far as I know 4 manufacturers who have the royalties to make tungsten carbide with the least nickle in it. The cheap tungsten you find online has Lots of nickel in it. Usually 30-50% or sometimes more. Just speaking from experience as Darling Husband has an allergy to it. We ended up with ceramic as he liked the designs better and it’s compleatly hypoallergenic. I guess it won’t matter if he doesn’t have any allergies but if he does and you want the real thing do some research and go to a reputable jeweler for it!

For those people that bought $15 $20 rings off amazon.  How did they hold up? how many years have you had it?

This would be ours. The plain koa wood and titanium ($287) is mine only narrower at 3mm and his with the opal band ($787) slightly slimmer at 6mm.

Mine was 12 500 SEK (about 1500 USD) and my husbands wedding band was 6200 SEK (about 730 USD).

Mine is 3 mm 18K gold with 11×0,03 ct diamonds. His is 6 mm and made of titanium. It was handmade bespoke and has a string of 18K gold in it, so it was pretty expensive considering it was made from titanium.

carmenere620:  we got his 18K ring from eweddingbands.com, and mine was custom made by a local designer. Both cost just a fraction of what retail stores would charge for the same rings.

Obviously workmanship matters, but precious metals and moissy/diamonds will be the same. I actually had budgeted twice my ring’s cost because the designer is well known and regularly featured in bridal magazines. Her custlm work was much cheaper than her collection pieces.

Maybe get some custom quotes before going the Amazon route?

None.

Didn’t get them until we were married for over 10 years. Asked my hsuband if he wanted to have a 3rd child, or wear a wedding ring. Then bought the cheapest rings I could find – maybe $75 for 2.

P.S. We stopped at 2 children.

My e-ring came with a matching wedding band. However, we were able to get another matching wedding band so that was added to my rings. It was about $600, since it was a custom order. So, in total my ring was around $4K (my ring was on sale when he purchased it, although I still thought it was too much!).

DH’s ring was about $300, but he bought another one later on (in case something happened to it), which was maybe $100? I can’t remember.
