Getting married next year, and have been shopping for wedding dresses…. Whenever I watch one of those shows “Say yes to the dress” etc It always surprised me how much middle income people spend on their wedding dresses! Almost everyone’s budget is 4-5k!
Now I make a pretty good income, but it still baffles me to spend that much on a dress that I could wear only for one day. And I am really not the sentimental type that would want to keep it in my closet forever. I would have no problem spending 4k on a bag bc I can use it multiple times, but on a dress for 1 night….?
How about this one I love it so much: http://url7.me/mTHh
So, now… come share how much you spent on your wedding dress, and if it was worth it retrospecitvely!

My dress retailed for $1500, but I bought the sample in the store for only $1200. A little over what I would have liked to pay, but I figure I can either sell it after the wedding or donate it to a second-hand wedding dress shop.

My dress was $1,200 after the preservation kit without alterations. It’s worth it because I ADORE the dress but way more than I’d hoped

My budget was 1200 but I ended up at 920, that’s with it being custom sized to me and tax.

Before starting school this fall, I was making about 1k/week and spent a little over 1k on the dress with alterations, crinoline and cups added.

I got my ceremony dress (discontinued) for $199.99 and I ordered my reception dress (china) for $99.99. I could have spend thousands but I don’t care for the label. I want something made nice that looks pretty :0)

$2200 including tax and that was a sample at a sample sale. However, it was a brand new dress, only tried on about 5 times so the discount wasn’t much but the dress was made for me and I couldn’t say no.
I went $1000 over budget and I don’t regret it. However, I wouldn’t pay more than $2000. I had told my mom and maid of honor that if I really loved a dress I would spend $2000. I can’t afford more than that. If I was making more money I’d be buying this beauty which is my dream dress but even used is way out of my price range:

My gown was $1100, I got it on sale for $950, spent $139 on viel, and another $600 on my alterations, bra, ball gown slip, and satin and fur trimmed winter cape for outdoor photos. So total for all this was $1689 from Davids bridal.

Mine is $2100 including alterations. I originally intended on around $1500 but I fell in love with my dress and since it is one of the more important things for me (I’m cutting costs elsewhere) I decided to go ahead with the more expensive gown.
