MiaSuperstar :  yeah I fell in love with a photographers work once we picked Vegas. Maybe booked and paid his deposit. I’m not even engaged yet but my ring is in process with the designer. I can adjust my time for the day I want, but there is no way I want any other photographer.

munchkin1917 :  yeah I was shitting my pants at the price but it was so comfortable and so beautiful!!!!! I’m a chunkier girl and thought for sure I would want a ball gown or something to hide that, and walked out with an a-line dress. All I had to do to it (because of my personal preference to not have a train) was to have the train cut off. 😍

As I’m walking up to my now husband for our first look:

I spent $1600 on my dress. With veil, accessories, and taxes/shipping it came to $2500. I will be getting shoes that are like 80 dollars, and no idea what alterations will be yet. My Fiance and I discussed dress budget before I went. He said $5000 as a top end budget for the dress alone. I thought he was crazy and set myself a personal limit of $2000. I stayed below that and I’m happy. I think the engagement ring was $2700. We could afford a lot more but I’m not much of a jewelery person. For context, our overall wedding cost is at about $25k, not counting the honeymoon. I wish it wasn’t costing that much because I’m cheap but Fiance has other ideas!

diamondbeez :  I spent $87 on one dress from Lulu’s, an online store.

Here is the link: https://www.lulus.com/products/zenith-cream-lace-maxi-dress/302072.html

My mom was really surprised at the quality for what I paid! I think it’s a great dress for the money as well. I worked at a bridal/prom dress store and the lace and stitching was comparable to $500+ La Femme’s. I didn’t even need to get it altered because the shape was pretty flexible, it only needs a hem.

I also like this slinky style because I think it transitions well from ceremony to reception. If you are comfortable enough to wear form-fitting, I suggest it! My wedding is outdoors on the grounds of the Hemingway House in Key West, so it is more for a warm/summer environment.

diamondbeez :  it’s Jim Hjelm from 2012(?) collection. I purchased it in 2014 and did not want to take it off ever!

<model photos> My dress was $1400. It was super important for me to have the exact dress I wanted so we put a large part of our wedding budget aside for it(small wedding)

BHLDN Annabelle Dress – $300 w/tax

Alterations – $140

Attire wasn’t a huge deal for us and he wore a Ben Sherman suit he got from Nordstrom Rack a few years prior.

My dress was $5000, plus a $150 dress that I bought for the dancing (although the cheap one required $350 in alterations).  With all of the taxes, alterations, accessories, and shoes , the whole category of bridal attire was over $8000,  which is more than what most people would spend out of a total of $30,000 budget. But the dress was hugely important to me, I had been dreaming of my wedding dress since I was eight years old. So no regrets!
