I’m just trying to get an idea of the average cost of wedding packages.. how much did you pay for your wedding photos and what did the package include?

I would like to know too! (I’m just making a post so I remember to come back and read this later.)
A TON depends on where you’re located and what you want. Are you in a metro area? How many hours do you want? Do you want albums included? All of this affects that price.
For us, we’re paying $6500, and we’re getting: 9 hours of photography, online gallery, hi res disk, engagement session, 2nd shooter, bride and groom album, 2 parent albums, and proofs of all the photos taken.
We spent $2,300 for 9 hours of photography (1 photographer), online proofs, bride and groom album, a few free blown up prints, etc.
It greatly depends. For a quality photographer with a few years experience, I would say to budget around $2500. We paid $5000, and that included 8 hours, hi-res images on a CD and a 2nd shooter (no albums). We hired a super experienced photographer that’s in high demand, though. We found some other good ones in our area (upstate NY) that were in the 2-3K range that were also very good.
I find pictures to be very important so I scoured Craigslist and other internet searches to find an amazing photographer for less than $1000. Most of the top photographers in this area are $1500-$3000 for their lowest package.
Luckily I came across a girl who was just starting her business but took amazing photos. Since it was new, her rates are lower to build her clientele. I have no doubt that she will soon be charging what the other top photographers charge.
Here is my package:
$580
Engagement session
6 hours on wedding day
All images on CD with full printing rights
At least 75 edited photos
DVD of wedding photos set to music.
So my advice would be if you have a smaller budget or just like to get more for your money, shop around A LOT! Here are some examples of my e-pics.
We got a great deal. We’re paying $1700, which includes:
We didn’t order any prints or albums at this point, but we may add some on after the fact. Or we might just order them from somewhere else that’s cheaper. The boy may have a few print shop connections.
This is so variable. My advice is to contact photographers you are interested in, tell them what you are looking for, and ask for their price sheet. Many states have wedding photographer associations that publish their average prices as well. For example, here is one here in WA.
Looking at 1700, so ca $2000, I think, for 12 hours, all high res on disk, unedited video footage, thank you card pics printed, and fauxtobooth manning.
Happy out!
We are paying $1250 for 6 hours of coverage (one photographer), high resolution disk with rights and an engagement or bridal session. We aren’t buying any albums because I plan to do mine through Adorama after the wedding.
We’re paying $1,899 for full day and dvd with images, no prints. We probably end up doing our own album.
we paid $1250 for: 10 hours of photography, 2 photographers, 3000+ full res/RAW images on disk.
we’re doing prints and books ourselves. So far I’d say we’ve spent about $35 on prints. We’re making 1 large book for ourselves & 2 smaller ones for our parents. They should be about $75+30+30.
Our package is $3,500. It includes the following:
I may have forgotten something…but that seems about right. Bascially, it’s everything except the albums, which will be a separate cost unforunately, but so worth it!
$2500
2 photograpers all day (father/daughter duo). We also have her husband working our “Faux-to Booth!” All digital images, no albums. I think we’re doing to do our own.
Like PP mentioned it depends on where you are and what you’re looking to receive. Photography was our top priority as its the last wedding in my family and the first in FH’s family. We are paying upwards of $7k and we’re receving…
