(Closed) How much did you spend or your wedding/planning to spend?

Central/Southern CA and we will probably end up somewhere around 25-30k (not including honeymoon or rings).

My parents are paying for the wedding itself and fi and I have paid for the honeymoon and rings. His parents are doing the rehearsal dinner.

Our wedding is in Boulder and I’m looking at around $40K right now for 150 people, including the dress and the rehersal dinner, photographer, dj, flowers, hotel stay, venue rental, food, alcohol, save the dates and invites, etc. Not including post-wedding brunch and honeymoon. We couldn’t afford the videographer and I’m pretty bummed about that. But this is all so much money!

Australia, WA: planned for $15K, currently looking like it will end up around $18K. However our parents will probably help a little bit so what we ourselves pay should stay under $15K.

Sit-down dinner reception for ~85 people. Not including honeymoon but the honeymoon will be small, like under $2,000.

Silicon Valley, CA. The average cost for a wedding in my city is $39,000. Our original budget was $8,000 (not including rings or honeymoon) we are now planning around $10,000. I think we’re going to be closer to $15k unfortunately. We are having 75 people, we are paying for everything ourselves.

Our budget was $12,000….we are at about $14,200. But that includes EVERYTHING…wedding rings, honeymoon and the whole shebang…for about 120 people in Traverse City, Michigan.

Total spent was probably about $18,500 (rings, honeymoon, and everything else included).  Between my parents and Darling Husband and I we spent about $14,000.  His parents took care of probably another $4,000-5,000ish.  

This was for a big, traditional wedding of about 450 people in NW Ohio.  Most things are pretty reasonably priced here.  His parents paid for some upgrades we probably wouldn’t have done if they didn’t choose to – but were much appreciated!  Originally we were hoping to spend more like $12,000 between my parents and us.  But I really feel like it was worth it, we had a perfect day and great pictures to remember it by.

A lot isn’t finalized but the two biggest things: venue (which includes food) and the honeymoon are out of the way (except for the flights). Looks like we may be around 7K-8K (for around 90 guests). I thought even that was a lot. I am very frugal, so I hope it’s worth it.

Originally we wanted to keep it at 10-12k for 100 people in San Francisco.  Then his parents offered to help us a bit, but also gave us a list of people they’d like invited.  It didn’t really change what we are paying, and we like the guests they want to include so we are looking at 15-18k for 140 people in San Francisco.  Realistically will come in at 16.5k-17k.

 

It doesn’t include rings or honeymoon, bands will run about 1k for his and mine, honeymoon tbd.  Our ceremony is a church venue in portola valley and our reception is a plated 3 course dinner with cocktail hour and dancing after dinner.  Oh I also didn’t include my dress since I’m paying for it all myself and my mom is helping me.

introvertedgal:   We are doing something like yours.

Our wedding is just weeks away and we are aiming to spend $2500 for everything (dress, suit, marriage license, rings, photographer, fancy lunchon, professional hair/make-up/nails/spray tan, pre-maritial counseling, veil, jewlery, shoes, etc.) for us and our four guests (parents only). The only thing not included is officient (FI’s dad is doing it) and my bouquet and boutinere.  

Our honeymoon will cost about $5,000.

Ours is going to come out somewhere around $20,000, including everything but the honeymoon (which is probably about $5000, mainly because flights to London are expensive). I did a quick add of the large items, and came up with 17.5k-ish; we’ve bought decor (and other things, like wedding bands, invitations/save the dates, etc) as we decided on them, so those are probably another couple thousand. 

We’re having 100 people, in South Carolina.

We wanted to stay under 10k and now we are looking at around 18… F word indeed. The most expensive part is the catering. I cannot find a caterer to do a buffet meal for 140ppl with plates and flateware for under $5000.. I’ve had some very rude responses too. :/

My initial thoughts about what our wedding vision/costs would be has changed alot!!  LOL

I live in Mass (N. Shore) and total so FAR for approx 65 guests:

Venue (on the ocean and all inclusive – booze is extra)

Officiant

DJ

Florist

Open air photo booth

Photog

Cake

= $11,500

Still have to factor in for:

Booze (venue charges by consumption)

Wedding rings

Invites

Random items (escort cards, card box, table # holders and misc crap like that not included)

Transportation

Hair/makeup/dresses/alterations (my individual expense, he’ll cover tux’s)

Bridal gifts

** I suspect that all in will be about $15K but that seems reasonable considering totals I have read and how much things can cost if your not careful especially when self paying!!

** We have been equally contributing to a “honeymoon fund” monthly since getting engaged last December so that by next May, that will be all set!! 🙂
