1. $2,000ish

2. Gatlinburg, TN

3. One week

4. We are going to be renting a cabin in the mountains for one week. We figured $2,000 will cover the cabin rental, getting there (we’re driving from Charleston, SC), food, and anything we might do during the week.

5. Not sure…I’ll let y’all know! (Wedding is 2/6/10)

1. How much?: around $1600-2000 (CAD)

2. Where did you go? We will be going to Long Beach Lodge in Tofino, BC.  Its usually a pricey place to go, but we’re going during storm season so the prices have gone way down.***

3. How long did you stay? We will be staying 4 nights and 5 days

4. What did you get for it (all-inclusive. private pool, butler, etc.): A private cottage, which usually sleeps six (it includes a kitchen, two floors, to bathrooms, to bedrooms, a private hot tub), housekeeping and free breakfast at the great room in the main lodge (which has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean).

5. Would you recommend it to others? Yes! This is the exact same place where we got engaged so its special to us. But we really enjoyed our last visit, thats why we’re going back!

*** We don’t mind going during the storm season. The great room is a perfect place to storm watch! Also, we wanted to relax during the honeymoon and save the travelling for next year, so this is perfect getaway for us.

We are still deciding on our honeymoon plans…this thread is SO encouraging though. We don’t have thousands and thousands of dollars to spend and it sounds like some of you have had GREAT honeymoons for much less. Keep the ideas coming! 🙂 (Were deciding as of now between something Caribbean, Maine, or the upper west coast…has anyone gone any great places in these areas?)

Love this thread. We’re still looking for a destination too and have budgeted $3000 for 12-14 days. After reading your budgets, I feel like we may have been too idealistic.

1. How much?   $607 for airfare from Chicago.  4BR ocean front condo *free*  wedding gift from a close friend.

2. Where did you go? Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  November 2009.

3. How long did you stay? 7 days 6 nights

4. What did you get for it (all-inclusive. private pool, butler, etc.)  Thus far the only cost has been airfare.  The condo we will be staying at is a friends and he gave it to us for the week as a gift.  We figure about $1000 for spending money.  PV is gorgeous and we have already visited together.  Lots of lovely restaurants, plus we can eat in at the condo.

5. Would you recommend it to others? YES!  I love Puerto Vallarta.  I have been to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Cozumel, Punta Cana, Grand Cayman, etc…….PV is by far my favorite.  It is so romantic and has many award winning restaurants.  The people are friendly and it is easy to use the bus to get around the city.  The condo we are staying at is in the Marina Vallarta area and is so lovely to walk around.  The nearby neighborhood is gorgeous, too.

1. How much? $2100 (all expenses included in this)

2. Where did you go? We went to Bermuda to a resort called 9 Beaches.

3. How long did you stay? 5 nights.

4. What did you get for it (all-inclusive. private pool, butler, etc.) We got a private cabana and full breakfast served every morning. Also included was trip/travel insurance and the transfers to and from the airport. We paid for lunches and dinners and all other incidentals on our credit card.

5. Would you recommend it to others? We would definitely recommend Bermuda as a destination. The people were super nice, the water and the beaches are gorgeous (my husband and I are both NOT beach people, but we had a lot of fun). We did snorkling out over the reefs and saw some beautiful fish. Ate some of the best sushi we’d ever had (and we lived in Japan for more than two years). It was basically a blast. The only downside is that the food is very expensive, so finding an all inclusive is probably worth it, though we managed to only spend $400 on top of what we booked as a package.

It’s a bit large, but we are planning on spending around $8000 for a 14 day vacation.  We are flying from Canada to LA, spending a few days in LA, then flying to Tahiti for a 10 day cruise of French Polynesia.  this cost includes cruise, hotel, airfare, food and non-slcohoolic drinks… plus some extra spending money.  We are having a large wedding, and are using a honeymoon registry, hoping to re-cup some of the costs, but also prepared to spend that price on our own if we get nothing!  It’s our honeymoon, and we want to have the trip of our lifetime!!

Love this post!

1 & 4. So far $3200 – package deal that includes flights and hotels. We haven’t gone yet, so I can’t really say how much we’ll spend on extras, but we love to eat, so I’m sure it will be mostly on food and drinks!

2. Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.

3. 3 nights in Rio and 4 in Buenos Aires, so 7 nights total.

4. See #1

5. Don’t know yet, but I can’t imagine why not! I guess the only thing would be that we’re going in December, which is summer in South America, so weather will be perfect. Not sure what it’s like other times of the year.

1. Approximately $4500

2. We went to the Aventrua Spa Palace in Rivera Maya (south of Cancun).

3. We stayed 6 days, 5 nights

4. It was all inclusive and we upgraded to the Concierge Level (upgraded liquor, private lagoon, special dinner, free massage, upgraded room service, other gifts).  Since we were honeymooners we also go the Honeymoon package (special dinner, cocktail hour to meet other honeymooners, champagne and fruit in your room).  Our resort was also running a special and we got 50% off of golf and spa services (we used it for a romantic couples massage).  There was free transportation to the other resorts in the area as well as some free tours to the ruins and other places.

5. I would recommend it.  It’s not right on the beach, there are lagoons (which I really loved – have the ocean and beach – but no waves to whip you around), but if you like the place, you can visit the other esorts in the area and use their beaches.  The time of year we went was great too because there wasn’t hardly anyone there so we got lots of extra attention and never had to wait for meals.  If you’re into night life, they had a disco on site or they had transportation to the night clubs.

1. How much?  $3500

2. Where did you go?

San Francisco & Sonoma, CA.

3. How long did you stay?

6 nights

4. What did you get for it (all-inclusive. private pool, butler, etc.)

The price includes what we’ll pay for hotels (Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa and Fairmont San Francisco), wine tour, spa treatments, ballet tickets, plus $100/day for food (which we’ll probably exceed).  Does not include airfare because we cashed in FF miles.

5. Would you recommend it to others?

I’ll let you know in two months!  But I love that area, I’ve been there before a number of times, so I’m thinking I’ll love our honeymoon.  😉

1. We spent about 6K.  That includes flights, all our hotels, and spending money.

2. Ireland

3. We stayed 14 days.

4. We drove ourselves around the whole Southern half of Ireland, staying in different cities and hotels/bed and breakfasts along the way.

5. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in traveling to Ireland.  We had an amazing time.  It is truly one of the best places we have ever been too.  From the people to the food, it was spectacular from start to finish.
