My husband spent $14.5k. 18K white gold, 1.95 round brilliant center. Total carat weight of 2.27. I had NO idea what I was getting, only that I had once told him I liked large stones. I love everything about it.

Engagement ring: Lab oval diamond. 1.06ct F VVS2 with all specs falling into preferred oval cut ratios. 8.01mm x 5.84mm. Size 5 finger. $2850 for the stone, $600 for the 14k rose gold solitaire setting.
Wedding band: 2mm 14k rose gold band. $150. I just wanted something simple that I would never have to take off.
With taxes, the whole set was under $4000.

My original ring is a .25 that my husband paid $150 Canadian for 13 years ago when we were super broke. I have since gotten a few other sets that are more blingy, but I actually wear that one pretty often. It’s my favorite and I still cherish it. Here it is with my original band.

The stone itself was right around $20k, with the pave setting it ended up being $30k or so. It was a custom design by a jeweler in NYC and has a hidden halo underneath the center stone.
