I have no idea. Maybe it’s just my circle, but none of us seem to know as many details about our rings as most people on Weddingbee seem to know about theirs.

My engagement ring was about $2250, and Darling Husband and I split the cost of it evenly. It’s a 7.5 mm FB OEC moissanite set in platinum with diamond melee. I paid for my band myself, it cost about $1000 because I supplied the diamonds from another ring I already had – otherwise it would have been $2k. It’s also in platinum with 22 round brilliant diamonds = 0.34ct total weight. I’d have been fine with white gold but the jeweler told me that the platinum of my e-ring would wear down the gold over time since it’s stronger, and Darling Husband developed a strong preference that I should have platinum since we went with a much less expensive moissanite rather than a diamond :). The diamonds in the band are G-H in color and SI1 in clarity. Both rings were custom made, the e-ring by David Klass and the band by a local jeweler. The band is a bit wider than my e-ring, because of the size of the diamonds I recycled from my other ring. The set together appraised for about twice what we paid for it, which was kind of cool 🙂

DH’s ring was about $400 I believe, and we got it on Etsy. It’s titanium on the outside and rosewood on the inside. I paid for that too. When we were getting engaged/married I was much more cash-rich than he was because I left my job for a new one, and got paid out for a bunch of vacation time I hadn’t used. That was super helpful for paying for our rings and the wedding. Plus, as we figured, it’s all OUR money now!

We were under our $20k budget. Came in at $18,800 and all paid in cash and in full upon pick up.

Planning to spend about $4k total on both our wedding bands.

Ring is a round brilliant diamond, G color, 1.62 carats, Vs1, triple excellent rating, and the spells is crazy. Have one pic with natural light and one with yellow light!  A 1.8 carat H color stone would have actually been cheaper, but we decided color was more important as my fiancé has really good eyes and could see the “yellow”.

MrsAtlantis :  I got the same (rightful) chastisement the first time I posted this photo. I promise that it is old and I have taken all advice to heart since and not snapped another pic of my ring while driving 🙂

Not sure what he paid; but I know it was appraise for $11k. The center stone (1.51 carat) was inherited from my grandma. We spent $300 on a thin pave wedding band, but he upgraded that as a wedding surprise to a mini halo band; not sure exactly what he paid for that; but I think it was closer to $600.

bear123 :  same.  The only thing my husband told me was the carat weight of the center stone and what it appraised for when we were going over the insurance on it.  I have never asked any questions.

I don’t have the ring yet because it’s being made as I type this, but we just purchased a 2.2 GIA certified cushion cut, I color, eye clean SI2 clarity, excellent polish, good symmetry and no flourescence on a white gold cathedral setting with two surprise rubies in the setting.  Right around $11K.

He’s never fully told me but I believe it was about $5000 CAD. 0.6ct diamond (vvs1, H, ideal cut, xxx) with 0.1ct diamonds in the pave (19k white gold)

It’s appraised at $8k

My Fiance shopped around for a while and found a retailer with the most decent price pre carat kinda of deal. He also went BIG on the quality *i was hoping for BIG on size but whatever*. It is a s1 clarity, very good cut, and completely colorless and it costed $5,000.  It is only a 1ct (its the one on the left) :/683BA432-80A4-4AD0-B0C1-FE415676F829

He spent $750 on the setting and getting the diamond set. The heirloom diamond was free, and is worth about $1200. I would consider it under budget, although I don’t think we ever set one.

Mine is a one carat princess cut with three small diamonds on each side for $4,000. We had never really decided on an official budget, but we had always said somewhere around $3,000 would be good so I was actually really surprised when he went over budget since we’re both very cheap lol.

I had my heart set on having an antique ring, so when he started asking about styles, i went to the best store near me with my besty and tried on a bunch to see what syles i liked! Wanted to get something i would love forever but didnt want to spend a fortune so found a bunch i liked in the limit i thought was reasonable (2500 i think was top limit). We were selling our first house and we designated 3000 from the profit to go into his savings for him to use for the ring when the day came he wanted to buy it. He was a bit surprised that i suggested that (comes from traditional italian family) but i told him, if we are already partners in everything, why should he burden of that cost be solely on him, specially when i get to wear it! He ended up going over budget (by about 500-800)and picking something i hadnt tried on (which i loved more than the ones i had, and even more that it was his choice)… and since he went over budget i bought him a famcy huge toolbox for his garage as an engagement gift… Our wedding bands, i dont have photos of, but i went with a super simple white gold band with a little indent for my engamgent to fit over, on sale for about $120 and his was a fancier one with birch trees engraved on it for $600..our money is now joint so we both bought the wedding bands together.
