ashcan:  I just had my first fitting today!! I had the hem shortened an inch, my lace straps shortened, cups sewn in and a bustle added and it was $350.

$150 for hollow-to-hem through the store…taking 9 inches off the dress. My dress has no beading or lace, just simply one less thing I have to worry about. It will be in Feb 2016! 😕

700$ weeeeeeee. Extensive beading up top must be redone to take it in.

I have a lace beaded dress. I went to 2 seamstresses and they both quoted me $480 for hem, bustle, bra cups, & decorative buttons.

I was so lucky. I only needed to have the bustles put in, and my cap sleeves put on. My alterations were $85 which is incredibly cheap, from what I understand.

$875. Beading and lace, bustle, cups sewn in, needs to be shortened 3 inches, and taken in on the sides. Then again I am having my alterations done at Kleinfeld’s lol, so I expected it to be pricey

352$. The hips on my dress were taken in (to do this she had to remove the lace and beading and sew it back in place, as my entire bodice is heavily beading), bra cups were added, sweetheart neckline was curved in, hem was altered, and a 3 point bustle was added.

Mine were 560. Cups put in, bustle, hem and taken in almost two sizes at the top. Heavily beaded.

$750 my dress was layers of lace no beading. I had the hips and bust taken in. He added cups, bustle and sewed my sash on. He also added boning to the bottom of my dress instead of a hoop. He also came and steamed my bridesmaids dresses and tied us all up on the day of the wedding 🙂

$50.  I went to a tailor recommended by a friend,  not David’s where I bought the dress.  It was tea length and I just needed it taken up a few inches.
