I’m currently pregnant with my first and I know how much my siblings and DH’s siblings weighed (all were big on both sides), but I’d love to see what most other people’s babies weigh at birth. So, how much did your baby weigh at birth? Was he/she full term, pre-term, or overdue?
Too many possible weights to add a poll, unfortunately!
ETA: Another part of the reason I’m asking is because I’m trying to register for cloth diapers but can’t decide on the size. Cloth diapers can be pretty expensive right off the bat and I don’t want to buy a bunch that the baby will outgrow right away. We’ll use disposables for newborn since most babies I know IRL (who are all big, remember) only fit into newborn for a week or two if they don’t skip it entirely. These are the diapers I’m liking right now. I think I can get away with starting with medium because I’m registering for the snap-less ones and should therefore be able to make it even smaller if necessary since there won’t be a preset waist size. The mediums are supposed to be for about 15-24lbs but I think I could probably start around 12lbs, or less if baby’s a chubber.

I was 8lbs 8oz at birth, DH was 10lbs. Our little guy was 9 days late and was 8lbs 5oz.
Just to give you an idea in relation to our sizes too!

Ds and I were 6lb 3oz at birth. Both 3 weeks early and have the same birthdate. I know too crazy to believe… but true! Congrats and good luck! May you have a healthy speedy delivery!

@aandmklover: Thank you! And that’s such a crazy coincidence with you and your baby! It’ll be a fun fact you can tell people for years :).
@sunshine_kar: Thank you, your babies sound lovely!
Hopefully talking with all you women with small babies will run off on me and keep this little bub below 10lbs, haha ๐

My daughter was 9 lbs 2 oz, born at 41 weeks. At birth I was 6 lbs and DH was a little over 8 lbs. We are both pretty petite so I have no idea where that huge baby came from! She’s now at average weight for her age, at 7 months old.

My peanut was 6 lbs 7 oz, full term @ 39 weeks.
We use one-size cloth diapers, which can be worn starting when baby is 8 lbs. She was in disposables for a while. ๐

@ScottishMrs: I was 8 lbs 14 oz , fi was 6 lbs 4 oz I think. My daughter came out 8lbs 6 oz 1 week over due. I was Iinduced due to placenta stopped growing. I had complications during her delivery and decided on CCsection and will need csections with any future kids I decide to have.
