180. I chose long dresses so they could wear whatever shoes they wanted. And I paid for half of the price of their dresses.
at my current stage in life I wouldn’t want to pay that much for a bm dress. I wouldn’t mind once I’m more financially established though. You’ve just got to know your friends and whether or not that’s reasonable for Them.

kma291: I’ve been asked to spend $150-225 and thought that was pretty average (though I was a poor grad student at the time!). My BM’s dresses are around $200 but they got them on sale for $160-175.

Mine were $200. I paid half for each of the girls because I thought it was a lot to ask.

My girls are paying about $140 for full length gowns. I wanted a very similar color to what you’re looking for and found a darker but just a pretty color from Bari Jay. Now, we went to a shop to try them on, and they were asking $260+ which is just crazy to me. So they’re buying them online and one of my girls Mom’s will alter them if needed. If you’re interested the color I chose is “Stone Blue” and only comes in their english net dresses.

I didn’t want my BM’s spending more than $100 for their dresses. The only reason my dresses were under budget is because I bought all the fabric at 40% off and Future Mother-In-Law is making them. I doubt I would have been able to have the floor length dresses I wanted otherwise.

250-300 plus alterations, NYC is crazy expensive.

At my MOH’s suggestion, we looked on Ebay. We found a seller of black bridesmaids dresses that look gorgeous- much like other dresses I had looked at and liked. The dress we chose is only thirty dollars including shipping. I ordered one last week as a “tester” and it arrived within several days. I figured that in the case that the dress looked cheap or never came, at least I wasn’t out a ton of money.
The dress arrived last week and I was blown away. It fit Maid/Matron of Honor beautifully and looked just as good in person as a dress at bridal shops. The manufacturer is Miusol. My bridesmaids were thrilled and ordered immediately.
I was nervous because it seemed shady to get a dress so cheaply, but I am so glad it worked out.

kma291: My girls dresses were 230, including all alterations. The most I ever paid was 275…eek!

kma291: We ordered the Vivienne from Jenny Yoo (also in Ciel!). They retail for $280 but we were able to get them for $220 (not including alterations). I have 4 bridesmaids and I was in all of their weddings and their dresses were $200 as well. I asked the girls before deciding on anything if that was something they were comfortable with, and all agreed. I think it’s important to talk with your bridesmaids about budget. Out of the 5 weddings I’ve been in all but 1 was expensive (one was handmade- the zipper broke the day of, had to go to an emergency seamstress and miss about 1.5 hours of photos- I was MOH). To be honest though, if I could’ve found something that looked good on all 4 for $5 I would’ve taken it, I hate to think of the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on other people’s weddings between dresses and shoes that are all now all donated.
EDIT: You may want to check with your bridal salon- The ciel blue Vivienne from Jenny Yoo is being discontinued in Feb (yet they still didn’t lower prices) I dont know about the annabelle since it’s a different fabric, but to be on the safe side I don’t know that I would wait 5-6 months if you’re set on it.

Mine were $150 from Jasmine Bridal. I chose the color, length, and fabric, and they chose the style. I paid half for each because one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man is a single mother who doesn’t make that much, and I wanted to be fair to everyone.

I think the ones for my wedding were $165, but I cannot remember. I also paid for it … Flower Girl dress included.

kma291: my girls will be wearing the annabelle dress! i actually bought the dresses for all of them because i thought it might be too much a financial burden for some of them. i’m also going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding for a friend. that one was about $160 after tax so i felt like that a was good price

I think my bridesmaids’ dresses (new) were like $189/ea? I did NOT pay $189 for them tho. We’re on a tight budget and my bridesmaids are too, so I bought the dresses and got them used. I paid $90 for both dresses, shipping included. My step-sister may need her dress hemmed but otherwise the dresses both fit PERFECTLY!
I agree with talking to your BMs individually. Right now with a new baby, my own wedding, and other expenses $100 seems like a lot to spend just to be someone’s bridesmaid… especially since they would still need shoes, makeup, and a wedding present. You could tell them their dress is their present or their presence as a bridesmaid is their present.

Mine were about $190. Some had to get extra length with was $10 more, but not bad. It was VERY tough finding long Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in the color I wanted for less than $200, but I price shopped and asked for discounts until I made it work 🙂 I know some people who have had BMs pay more than $300. IMO I think $200-250 is about average.
