$250 for us to use the church, nothing for the minister(he is my cousin), and about $100 for the supplies for the pomander balls and tulle.

We are paying about $2000 for our church, including simple arrangements (it doesn’t need anything extra, it’s gorgeous and that helps lol) to be reused as niche arrangements at the reception.

Ours is on the historical registry in Atlanta AND we arent members so that’s why ours is a little pricey. It’s about an extra $1000 for not being members. However, it does include a day of coordination team, the rehearsal, the officiant, the organist and other music, and premarital counseling.

The total for my church ceremony, including the donation to the church, is about $800. That doesn’t include the outside musicians we’re hiring.

$250 “donation” for the use of the church, plus $250 deposit. (I say “donation” because it’s not required if you can’t afford it, but most donations don’t include a deposit, either!)

$200 gift for Deacon

$100 gift for Priest

$200 for musician

$150 for Pre-Cana (though this was through a different church)

Granted, our priest, deacon, and musician were all people we would have invited anyway, so they gave us gifts for the wedding, so really it all just kinda cancelled itself out.

I forget how much for flowers just for the church. We took the smaller arrangements and left the big one in front of the altar.

wow, we’re actually getting our venue, our officant, and our pre-martial counceling (which is funny, since we’re already married) for free!  it looks like we’re saving a lot of money!

We got the church (rather imposing Art Deco granite church that sits 900 people), the deacon, the amazing organist and the minister for free. The church was already nicely decorated, so we didn’t have to worry about that either. We got married in what has been my parish church for almost 6 years now.

The minister is a friend of mine who lives pretty close by (and is currently on maternity leave), but the only potential cost in the ceremony would have been to cover her travel expenses if she lived further afield.

I go to a rather large church (about 2,000 members) and the fee is 500 for members and non-members can’t book. This fee includes day of coordinator, lighting and sound techs, and cleaning fee. They also are at the rehearsal so that fee just really covers the church cost to pay these people. We are using a different minister so I’m not sure what the charge for the pastor would be but I’m guessing it’s donation.

I think it is very fair as the church and other members shouldn’t be paying people to perform services at my wedding and all the techs are church members who have other jobs so they deserve compensation to take away a Friday night and Saturday of their time.

Our college campus chapel cost $250. Our officiant cost $200. Our pianist/organist cost $150. I’m not sure how much the flowers cost since my Mother-In-Law paid for them. My aunt was the ceremony coordinator so she did it for free. We got married in NC.

Wow I did not know pre marital counseling fees were a thing …. We have been debating on to use the church or not but, I think we are going if that be the case it’s $370  and they haven’t told me I have to but obviously I’ll pay the pastor on my own … There is a fee for organist and cootdinator but I told the office I didn’t want either even though she seed very insistent I needed one bc otherwise who would put cones out for the limo ( ummm i don’t think I said anything about a limo lolol plus I think I could put cones out on my own if need be)

honeybuzz:  200 for the church

i think it was about 160 for the priest. i had to pay his ticket to come to the next town, via ferry. see he was already soppose to be in town but the priest retreat was canceled. the church asked if he would bring a car over so i payed for the car/passenger via ferry. Then later sent him a thank you card with 50-100 in it. i might have sent him 50 bucks wth some smoked fish? so some where around 200 to 250 all together. (it was two years ago so its hard to remember how much exactly)

flower were provided by my Brother-In-Law and his wife. it was around 100 but we had to clean up after and carried/set up those exact flowers at the reception.

used a cd player for music.
