@allinoelle:  Overall, our wedding costed a little over $20,000. My dress was $1,400 so that’s about 7 % of my budget.

my dress was $900 full price. I got it on sale for $600. It came in and was given to me unfinished, so they knocked my price down to $480 for the inconvenience. My total budget is loosely $12k, so 4% of my budget, but my math could be wrong 🙂

My dress was a gift, but it was 1,800, and our wedding cost just under 4k.

So if I would have paid for the dress, it would have been nearly 33% of our budget!

20%… Embarassed But I was assured by the money makers that it was the right decision. My dress was 2k, and our budget is 10kish.

My dress (pre-alterations) was a gift from my parents, and it was just over $1K.

I’m paying for alterations and pressing, for which I budgeted $500 (alterations were $390, and I’m hoping that pressing will be less than $110). That’s a teensy percentage of our wedding budget, which is clocking in around $15,500.

About 4%, my original budget was 2% because I really didn’t think my dress should be a big chunk of our wedding cost, but I couldn’t find anything in that price range so I had to up it.

Dress was $1900, with alterations about $2100. Wedding budget is around 21k so it was 10% of our total costs

Dress was paid for by my parents but it was $1300 and our budget was $10k (looking like it will end up closer to $15k though! Ah!)
