7.5% ($900) of $12,000, our total for attire/accessories was a little over 10% of our budget.

My dress is about 3.5% of my entire wedding cost – which includes everything down to honeymoon, rings, etc.

My dress was $1,800 and our overall budget was 28K so (with my horrible math skills) about 6%

I budgetted 5% of my overall budget for dress, sales tax and alterations.

When you budget for your dress–DON’T FORGET SALES TAX AND ALTERATIONS! Those can easily add another $500 or MORE, depending on the cost of the dress. Which means a $1,0000 dress will actually cost more like $1,500. A $5,000 dress (here in CA where our sales tax is 10%) will cost more like $6,000 or more after tax and alterations. I’ve seen a lot of bees forget to factor in those things…and they figure “sales tax–I’ll splurge” but then get MAJOR sticker shock once their dress comes in and they get hit with a $400-600 alterations bill.

About 10% – my dress, accessories and alterations are around $7K, our total budget is somewhere around $70K.

Lets see, my dress and alterations were $650 and our total budget is ending up around $30,000, so 2%!! Thats pretty good. All of my jewelry is borrowed and my shoes were only $50.

Wedding was $25 000, and my dress was $1700. So 7% of budget.

My dress was only 500 – which I thought was super cheap – but in relation to my wedding cost overall its roughly 35%. EEK I had no idea it was that much! lol

I am doing a DIY wedding and the whole thing is coming off pretty cheap ๐Ÿ™‚

My parents bought my dress & veil. It cost about $2000 without alterations. With, probably $2300. My wedding budget is $40000-$45000. So it’s about 5%.

My dress was about 20% of the cost, seeing as it only cost $500 and we managed the whole wedding for just over $2500. Yes, I said $2500. ๐Ÿ™‚

@allinoelle:  Dollar Tree and half-off sales at Hobby Lobby…that’s how we did it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus we’re only having about 100 guests and the caterer we went with is super cheap but they have delicious food! I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful mother and aunt though.
