We both have decided to go back to school so we had to cut our original cost down $10,000 so now my budget is $5000 give or take. I was pretty upset but after taking up all the planning so I can have my dream wedding cheap. I have done awesome

Candy bar: $100 candy was $60 and the jars came to a little less than $40

Flowergirl dresses: $50 (kept it simple)

Rings we bought during the engagement

HOneymoon is undecided and we are  doing a honeymoon registry when we decide.

We are lucking enough to have lots of sources and friends to help up save money.

We originally decided to do destination for 10k, then decided to have it in the states with a budget of 25k, and right now we are near 36k, not including the dinner rehearsal, honeymoon,or e-ring. I’m hoping the price goes down a few grand since we dont have a final count for our guests and we are giving them an option on what meal they want. Here’s hoping they go for the lesser of the two. LOL  Oh, and it doesnt help that I bought a second dress… :/

Kudos to all you amazing brides who kept your costs down.  I wish we could do so, but we picked an expensive, but magical, venue where we have had to hire out for everything!  Not to mention, being unemployed for 21 months has not helped when we’re paying for the wedding.  We didn’t even spend an exorbitant amount on our invitations!

All in, we’re looking at 32k – 40k for 75-85 guests.  Funny enough, most people don’t realize how much a wedding costs and when you get people who try and invite themselves, expecting an invitation, or friends who ask what guy they should start macking on (assuming they’re bringing someone they’re not even dating – NO!), or the ones who forget it is still a privilege to be invited to a wedding, not mandatory it becomes a little disheartening in the process.  I can’t wait to marry the love of my life, but some of the people from our guest list have been a huge disappointment, while so many others are making great sacrifices to be with us on our special day.

Venue – $6,000

dress w/ alterations – 1500

photographer – 3500

Right now, our budget is reading around 5000 dollars for between 175-200 people. I just keep telling myself that I can do it.

It’ll be about $20,000 when all is said and done.. We originally budgeted $5k.

My mom went crazy though.. like she booked 4 limos for everyone to ride to the wedding in.

We will only have 50 guests…

Dress – $200

Venue fee – $250

Food – About $400

Cake – $200

Paper, ribbon for save-the-dates and invitations – $80

Favors – $8 for 80

Drinks (punch; water and coffee at our venue are free) – $40

Centerpieces -Probably about $150 when we get everything

Music & photography – Free (iPod for music; MOH’s hubby is doing photos)

Plates and silverware – $24 for 80 (caterer provides it for .30 a head)

Flowers – Estimating here…probably around $100 for everything since we’re keeping it simple

Hair and makeup – $60-ish

Other assorted costs – We’ve budgeted for $2k, so that leaves us at $1512– $488 left over for linens, card box, etc. Rings will be inexpensive because Future Mother-In-Law has a friend who’s a jewelry designer and will give us a deal. 🙂

Woah… For someone at the very beginning of the process, these numbers are making me a little green in the face. Where is my money tree, damnit!? 🙂

We hadn’t really set a budget, but ended up spending just under $30,000 for 75 guests at our outdoor/garden wedding. That doesn’t include our honeymoon in the Maldives, which was $6,000, my engagement ring, which was $8,000, and our wedding rings, which were $4,500. So I guess our grand total was $48,500.

@SoonToBeMrsJordan:  We budgeted $10,000 (and spent just a little under that).  And that basically included every dollar we spent due to getting married that we would not otherwise have spent.  Thus, there were some things in there (like renting a house where all the wedding guests could stay) that would not be on any of the standard budget listings.

We originally said we’d want to stay at 30K for the wedding (minus honeymoon and rings), I don’t really want to add up the numbers, but I know we’re beyond that figure.  OUCH.  I have no clue how much my engagement ring cost, our wedding bands will be around 5k, the honeymoon around 10k.  OMG, now that I type that it really freaks me out.

Hmm..I think i was probably around $65K including honeymoon…At $225 a head with tax and tip included, catering was roughly half of that!
