Wow, I’m in awe of so many people on this thread! If anyone lives near Austin, TX, could you link me to some of the vendors? Haha.

I’ve considered this. Thai beach wedding for around 3,000$ for everything included. Of course you’d have to pay for attire, honeymoon, rings, airfare, etc., but most of the stuff for the day of is covered.

I was an accountant before so I have been keeping very close track of everything including gifts for hostess of bridal luncheons.  I can honestly say that when I see it in black and white I think…I should have eloped lol

My whole budget was $7,000 [from both of our parents]. We had an outdoor wedding with about 300 guests and managed to do it all for about $5,000!

We definitely were blessed by knowing the right people. We got married outside and just happened to know someone with a big tent. My dad did the catering. We had a good friend give us a great deal on photography…we really were blessed.

That doesn’t include the honeymoon or the rings.

What. happend.

original budget: 10k…

but this is including rings, a gifted luxury cruise for our honeymoon + the florist and church which my parents paid for. The rest was us, and a 4k loan…and a two year engagement. We could only afford 65 guests, believe it or not.

We haven’t done a final tally, but based on our estimates, it was probably about $30,000. We had 80 guests + two of us. We spent another $3-4000 or so on our honeymoon, but that was all paid for with money we got as gifts.

Not including honeymoon, about $30k.  Including honeymoon (not yet booked), $36-40k?

This is for a 150 person wedding, including dress, hair, makeup, rings, etc.

So far I’m at…

Venue (includes dinner, open bar, & table linens for 250 guests) –  appx. $15,000.

Dress & Sash – $2500

Photographer – $2600

E-session & prints – $175

So, we’re over 20k and not at all close to being finished. Our original budget was 15k but my Mom has suddenly become Super Mother of the Bride and is sparing no expense. Trust me, on my own I would’ve never come close to this, just looking at the price of our venue makes me want to faint – but I suppose I have to keep in mind that feeding 250 people was going to be expensive, no matter what we did.
