Hi bees! I’m shopping around for makeup artists and I was wondering what you guys spent on your hair and make up? Does the price include a trial? And how many touch ups were you given throughout the wedding day? Was there a change in hair style from the ceremony to the reception? Let me know all the deets! And pictures are always welcome!!!

I paid $650 for my hair and make up! It came with a trial, airbrush makeup (which I didn’t use), and a personalized touch up kit, which came in handy when I cried during our first look! I am in the Los Angeles region and the company I used is on the pricier side due to popularity.

My makeup, including a trial and lashes, is $150. It will not include any touch ups that I know of. I do think she sends samples of foundation and lip color for touch ups.
My aunt is a hairdresser and will be doing my hair. I doubt she will let me pay her or will hopefully consider it her gift and do nothing else, so I’ll likely get her a giftcard for $150 as she will probably do two trials and be available for touchups throughout the day.

$480 with tip for me, my mom, my sister, and my niece. This includes the travel fee. My niece’s makeup was free because all they did was some gloss, she’s only 9.
No trial or touch-up because we booked a few weeks before the wedding. We had money left in the budget, so we decided to spend it on professional hair and makeup.
I liked them, so I’ll probably use them again when we do pregnancy photos during the fall

My MUA charges $695 plus travel for hair and makeup for the bride only.
It did not include the trial. I paid $280 each for two trials…one for the engagement shoot, which was different than my wedding look. I also paid $460 for return hair service to change my half up/half down style to an updo for the reception. Was also provided a touch up kit but I didn’t really use it. Maybe just the lipstick once but the rest of my makeup stayed put all night.
The grand total ended up being $3.4K since I also paid for my girls and our moms.

I’m doing my own makeup and have spent like $400+ on makeup in the last few months to find the right products. But I’d rather spend that money and have the products to use afterward than a one-day application that I probably won’t even like. Also, we’re having our ceremony in the am and reception at night, so I plan to do fresh makeup before dinner.
For my hair, I’m keeping it really simple – my day-of will be $75, and the one trial was half of that.

My day-of hair and makeup is $200 total, and the trials are $140 total, for an all-in cost of $340 for hair and makeup with trials. The makeup includes lashes and airbrush if I’d like.
I did get a 10% off discount for booking early, so the normal price is a bit higher than that.

diamondbeez : My friend who owns a salon did my hair and makeup. She charged me what she charges for family. Here is the breakdown
Trial : $65
Hair : $100
Makeup : $100
Since she gave me such a steep discount (Most other places quoted me $500+) I tipped a full $100.
I did not have any touch ups throughout the day, although I touched up my own lipstick, and my BM’s removed my veil from my hair after the ceremony.
My hair changed between the trial and the day of the wedding. At my trial, I didnt have my hair pin, so she did something different. I also mentioned that it started to fall out mid day of the trial, so she did a style that was more secure and accomodated for my hair pin. I have attached photos of my hair trial, hair day of wedding, and makeup.

Mine was $180. Travel was built into that price. I had airbrushed makeup. No trial, it wasn’t in the budget.

I got a quote from a very very popular and high demand make up artist in my area and the quote includes a trial, make up and hair on the wedding day (morning) and a change of hair style for the reception and a make up touch up/ change of look (evening). And all of this for the bride was quoted for $2230. I’m just thinking if it’s worth it to spend that much money on hair and make up. For the trial, I can combine it with our photo shoot so I can go directly to my photo shoot after the trial (so the make up won’t go to waste lol)

I was in two weddings (bridesmaid) back to back and one I paid $150 with lashes, hair, makeup. Same as bride.
The other I curled my own hair and did my own make up. $150 is steep where I live although I know that isn’t the case in other places.
I legit look the same in both weddings (professional photos) besides my dresses being different. And I don’t do much makeup in general.

no that’s ridiculous. Unless it comes with a free nose job or whatever that’s stupidly expensive. What is she putting on your face? gold???
sorry if that comes across as rude but I’m astounded at that quote 😂
I’m going with a very popular and highly rated hair and make up artist, I had to book her 18 months in advance! I’m paying £350 for hair and make up, a trial and hair for one make up for the other bridesmaid
