Great Post!

Really interesting to see prices that have such a wide range, based on geographical location!

We married in the Bay Area, our photographer was $2200, which included 10hrs of shooting, 950+ pics, ALL edited, an online gallery, and a photo album.

We were REALLY happy with the pics… well worth the $$, but it we could’ve paid $800 and got similar pictures, we would not have been upset with that deal either! πŸ™‚

Sorry, I’m being lazy by not actually POSTING the pics…. Tongue Out

We paid $2500 for unlimited hours on the day of, two photographers (both professionals with their own photography businesses but just really close friends which was awesome cause his second photographer charges around $4500 for weddings usually).  We got online proofing, and rights to our photos.  We are allowed to download them in full size whenever we want.  I downloaded them all and just put them on a flashdrive.  πŸ™‚

Here are a few of our favs.

@SoonToBee2013:  OMG I am Serbian too! And my first cousin is a wedding photographer! I SOOO wish we could have our wedding over there, but alas, logistics… πŸ™

Whoaaaa there are some crazy good deals on here. I was firmly not intending to have a photographer at all (our wedding is super low-key and low-budget) but now I’m seriously wavering and wondering if I might regret it. :/

The trouble is, my budget is like $5-600, and I only want like, 2 hours of coverage max. Just the ceremony and a few outdoor shots during cocktail hour. No one will do that, apparently. I don’t know what to do!

@urchin:  I’m loving your forward honesty in your post and I couldn’t agree with you more.  I’m an event photographer and while some photos in this thread left me marvelling at fabulous bokeh, others made me cringe at the poor shooting alone and then untrained photoshopping slathered all over a poorly exposed image.  It’s so, so SO important that all brides ask the photographer to show them FULL WEDDINGS.  Never just accept their portfolio if it is in pieces of their best work.  You want to see what you can expect as a whole, never just the lucky shots.

We paid $800 for our photographer! That amount included an engagement pic session and full rights to all photos. Oh and unlimited time =)
