Middle stone is a green sapphire, .62 carat/5.2 mm. $500 Side stones are diamonds, and they are family stones. $0! 14k yellow gold band with recycled gold from my mom’s wedding set, so that was $0 also. I think a 1.5mm band. The custom design and casting/setting was $730. So $1230 for the engagement ring.

The wedding band will be a custom gold contour band, also 14k yellow gold, and I think 2.5mm at the widest point. That was $1100 to design and cast.

We used a local jeweler.

Ring size 6.5.

This is such a fun thread! I love seeing the different styles, both in terms of stone type and setting. So much pretty, pretty bling! *.*

I have a few rings, as I’ve been married for a while. Rings are the main type of jewelry I wear. I like to switch things up now and again, and my husband is okay with it.

16th (15th? I don’t remember, but I think it was 16) anniversary ring:

Center stone is .90 ct, SI1 (eye clean), and E color (I think?). Setting is platinum, and has around 1.5cts on it. Size 7. It’s funny how I thought I would never forget all the specs on it, but I have over the years.

We paid around 5-6K for the stone and setting (purchased separately from the same jeweler). It was through a jeweler that was local to us at the time, in the DC Metro area.

20th Anniversary ring:

It is definitely not a setting that is for everyone, but I remain obsessed with it. If I had ever thought something like this could exist back when I got engaged, I would have had it for my engagement ring, from the beginning.

Stone: Purple-pink Spinel, about 2.31ct equivalent, eye clean. I purchased it on sale for $118
Setting: 14K rose gold. It has about 13 grams of gold in the setting (I think it’s 12.6 or something like that). It’s a custom design by David Klass, $1400.
Total: $1518

Sunburst Ring, which was a  birthday present from my husband.

Stone: Yellow sapphire, around 1.24ct equivalent. I purchased it on sale for $117.
Setting: 14K antique yellow gold, $800. It is by David Klass.
Total: $917

I have a couple of others I could share, mostly just to give an idea of what custom work might cost. If I’m able, I will come back and post them.

tbenjamin4884 :  mine is a 1.06ct princess cut. G colour, VVS2 clarity and I am size 5.5 (UK K).

The diamond was purchased from Blue Nile for just under £4,000. I had the setting made by an independent jeweller in Glasgow. I think all in about roughly £4,500. They were due in for a rhodium plating before lockdown 🙈

My engagement ring is an antique Edwardian 0.85 tcw five-stone old european cut diamond (SI1 clarity, H colour) band with white gold claws (6-prong design) and a 14kt gold shank with engraved swirly shoulder details (reverse tapered shank). The largest diamond is 3.7mm and the smallest ones are 3.2mm—so very slightly graduated. As for my wedding band it’s a 22ct yellow gold plain band from the early to mid 1900s. Both rings are sized to  US 4.5

My engagement ring cost around $1800 AUD or roughly $1200 USD and the wedding band was $240 AUD/$160 USD, just a little over $2000 AUD altogether!

The e-ring was purchased from an antiques seller on IG (Oldworldtreasures) and the band was an incredibly lucky eBay score!

9ct white gold with a 1.04ct SL1/ G princess cut centre stone (but very eye clean!) and brilliant cut halo + shoulders total weight = 1.76ct . My ring size is M I think which is 6 1/2 US?

Orginally the ring cost £2000 a few years ago, we’ve just spent a further £2250 on  upgrading the centre stone ( including the work, the stone and having two sets of earrings made from the stones that came out of it), it’s got an insurance cert of £5000. I love it!

My engagement ring was my fiancé’s grandmothers. She was happily married for 72 years! Center diamond is color G or H, VS1, around .8 carats, total carat weight around 1.15. Cost us $0, but the knife edge band was heavily worn down to only 0.8mm at the base, so I had it reshanked to a healthy 1.8mm all around. It’s in its original platinum setting and enjoying its reshanked band that set us back about $300.00 at a local jeweler. Insured for $6k.
