I finally got my ring!!  It is a 1.75 ct princess cut diamond, G colour, VS1, Triple X. Size 4 finger.  Diamond was approx. $16,200 CAD, setting $800 CAD and platinum.  Not sure about my wedding band hubby gave that to me 10 years ago, but it is platinum with little diamonds.  Made by private jeweler.

ayvee :  Oooh, I am in love with your gorgeous set! So sparkly yet understated and looks like it’s so easy to wear because both bands sit flat. And bonus that they are vintage rings!  Congrats on your set.

hello all!

This has been so fascinating, what beautiful rings, and so interesting to see that cost isn’t really indicative of anything much!

Mine was custom-made by a Sydney-based jeweller who supplies coloured stones. Fiance knew he wanted to build something around a peach sapphire, so he was given a bunch of gems to pick from and selected this one, which is a 1.7 carat padparadscha sapphire from Ceylon. I don’t have specs on the side diamonds, unfortunately, but I’d guess maybe 0.6 carat brilliant cut, based on the details provided on the website as a suggestion for this setting.

White gold prongs for the diamonds, and rose gold for the sapphire. The band is 2.5mm (I think?).

The setting without stones was $2380AUD, and the full price for the piece was $7920AUD or thereabouts.

@oodlesofpoodles:  LOVE those rubies, are they natural? I love how natural rubies are a bit softer and pinker in colour than the lab ones. Both are beautiful but I just love pink, haha
