I got rediculous quotes on rentals, even from a family friend.  That is why I just bought my own, it turned out that it was less than half the cost of renting.  I did end up keeping two of them and sold the rest to my venue.

While the tablecloths themselves are provided by our venue we rented organza rosette overlays and they cost $20.00 a piece (84″).

I would recommend doing a little research on your own. You may have to have someone pick up the tablecloths the day or or pay a delivery fee but you might find a better deal. Often when the caterer provides items they aren’t charging you exactly what they are paying (I discovered this through research).

So we’re doing plain linen cloths (no overlays or fancy colors) and the rental was $90 for 20 tables… it was through our venue though (they rent them on our behalf) so that’s probably why it was so inexpensive.

That’s not totally unreasonable.  I work PT at an event rental store, and we range from $6 to $55, depending on table size, length, and fabric.

We are renting. Ours cost $35 for the raised rosette texture linens. I think it’s a normal quote : )

@HappilyEverAfter54: For our wedding I thought the same thing….but once I added in the cost of the tables, chairs, linens, napkins, etc. I was disappointed.  What colors are you doing? Usually the basics (black, white, ivory, brown) are a few dollars cheaper, and you could do cool overlays instead. Like instead of doing a floor length purple linen, it’s usually cheaper to do a white linen with a purple runner or overlay.  Plus the longer the linen, the more expensive.

Mine were $26 per table also, not including the cost of napkins. ugh! I was planning on buying them (it would have been cheaper), but we needed 18, and the kind we wanted were incredibly difficult to find in the color we wanted. I found them on eBay, but by the time we were ready to buy, they were gone.
