After a long hiatus from wedding planning, I’m back…with 6 months to go until the big day. The fiance and I were going over budget and I had budgeted $500 for my ring and $300 for his. I really want a small diamond eternity band or band with small channel set diamonds and I think that $500 is a reasonable price for this (I have a ring with channel set diamonds and it was only $300 so I think I can get a slightly better one for $500). The Fiance asked why I needed a fancy wedding ring since my engagement ring was big enough (he paid a big chunk of change for it, he won’t tell me how much but I think it was about 10K). Of course I said – because I’ll wear it every day of my life … it is a symbol of our love … blahbetty blah.
Anyway, I think that $500 for a diamond band is reasonable and wanted to know how much most couples spend on a bride’s wedding band. Can you help me out here?

Maybe I shouldn’t say since I’m the only one with $1,500+! I have a platinum band with 7 round diamonds semi-bezel set, and it was $2K. The main driver was that when I got married, platinum prices skyrocketed.

The wedding band I want will cost around $750. I want a 2.5mm eternity moissanite band set in palladium.
I think the metal you want makes a big difference. A platinum band will run you a pretty penny, while gold or palladium will cost significantly less. Small diamonds/moissanites like that don’t actually cost very much.

I haven’t gotten mine yet, but I’m planning on a simple eternity ring from Kay Jewelers, which run around $350-500.

I actually got my wedding band for $250. It’s white gold with small channel set diamonds. The stones only go half way around (I didn’t want to worry about the ones on the inside getting hit or knocked out and you can’t see them anyway). My husband was REALLY insistent that the wedding band be understated. He spent a huge amount of money on my engagement ring and he wanted it to stand out. Which was fine with me. I am considering getting a matching band for our 1 year anniversary to wear in front of my engagement ring because I’m anal about symmetry.
I think you are actually too low on your husband’s budget. Depending on what metal he wants his ring could be a whole lot more than $300. Men’s bands are larger and wider so they require a lot more metal.

I have a diamond eternity band with pretty big diamonds. eek it was way over $1500, but I paid for our bands myself so he didn’t have to pay any more.

Men’s bands are very reasonable. The one we’re debating on getting is $90 on amazon.com. Then again, it’s not platinum and has no diamonds.

i am getting a black diamond semi-eternity band set in 18k white gold for $700 ON SALE.

We got ours Sunday for about $300 total for both, including tax and insurance (basically free sizing for life). Of course, we went for 10K white gold (for me) and 10K yellow gold for him. Plain classic bands. His was more expensive than mine. Mine was under $70 and his was about $100 more. I told him he lucked out big time since the engagement ring was an heirloom too! 🙂

My E-Ring and Band came as a set, and it was $1800 for the set. My e-ring has a half carat center stone, and there are diamonds on the band too…

I believe you can get a gorgeous diamond wedding band for $500. Costco has a beautiful ring on its website and in the store they also have great rings. I don’t know where you’re located, often times jewelry stores have designer bands then their own replica for much less than the designer’s price.
Don’t be discouraged learning what others spent. We all live/spend differently and our budgets are going to be all over the gamut – our rings’ wants needs and specifics vary greatly

Had to have a no conflict diamond these puppies cost… I spent 1600 on a wedding band with 7 small diamonds. But I love it.

My wedding band is 14k white gold with five prong-set diamonds, about a half-carat total (not quite half-way around). It cost $250.

I think your $500 is reasonable to have a half eternity band but you might not find too many full eternity bands like that. Mine cost about $1000 for 1/3 eternity but it was in platinum which upped the price.

Thanks all!!! I am afraid I might have to increase my budget…Here’s another question, did you factor the cost of your bands into the wedding budget? It seems to me that it shouldn’t be factored in, but all of the “wedding budgeters” I’ve looked at account for it. Thank you again!
@Moose1209: Thanks for the info re the mens bands. Many of my friends have gotten Titanium bands which are really light and cheap so maybe that’s why I thought the mens band would be only $300. You’re right — I just looked on bluenile and the mens bands are from 500-1000 for just the gold and palladium ones…
@jackie-o: Thanks so much for the Costco recommendation! I would never have thought of Costco! Unfortunately I have small fingers (size 4) and Costco doesn’t resize it seems…
@7SEVENJ9: 1800 for that set?!? It is GORGEOUS!!!
