We recently changed our wedding plans from a big tradtional wedding in the canadian rockies, to a small almost elopement style wedding with about 15 people at our home. I was quoted $200 for a wedding commisioner in the mountains, and $400 for here since we are now having it at home! I would assume that in the mountains things would be more expensive, but this does not seem to be the case!
So, out of curiosity, how much did your wedding commisioner cost?

We are paying $250 for an elopement style ceremony where we go to the commissioners house. She is going to do the ceremony and provide witnesses. Without witnesses would be $200. (In Calgary, so I estimate we are close geographically.)
I priced out a few. The least for what we wanted was $200, but that would have required us to drive to the opposite corner of the city. The most I saw was $400 or $450… No way were we going to pay that when we could get one for less! But it depends on how picky you are about the officiant too. (We weren’t because we are getting married the following week in Mexico.)
